It's tough to get answers on a Sunday nite because everyone, except me, is busy listing. If you want someone to critique your auction post the auction number and we can take a look. But don't be alarmed at some answers as everyone has different opinions.

Hello and welcome to the eBay Outlook!

I looked at all three of your auctions and my observations are that you need to describe what's on the plate in your title. That way people looking for a specific type of plate, Madonna or cherub or landscape, for example, will find your auctions.

It would also be a good idea to put something in about what the shipping cost will be. Without any mention of the actual cost, it will be hard for a bidder to decide if they want to bid on your pretty plates.

Your pictures are nice.

Buy some items and build up some feedback, buyers are very cautious when you have no feedback. Would YOU buy from a seller with zero feedback? Pictures are nice, but could use better lighting.

There may be a LOT of bidders that do not want to deal with an item from distant China as shipping costs may be expensive. The zero feedback rating isn't a plus either.

I would not have put this in the "China, Dinnerware" category. Rather, a decorative items category. This plate is 99.9% certainly not safe to eat off of.

I would agree with Lucy, keywords are a must. Otherwise, your plate is just one of thousands of other generic plates on eBay with no reason to bother to look at them unless there is something of interest...Angels, Mother & Child, etc. I don't know if China Export or other generic words like beautiful or lovely or whatever really add anything to pull a buyer in.

Good luck and remember, practice makes perfect! You'll eventually find out what works and doesn't work all in good time.

This should help for people to search.

One thing that would keep me from bidding:

Payment in 5 days or relist and leave Neg.

No way I could get a M.O. to China in 5 days!

Anyone threatening to leave neg, I stay away as far as possible. 5 days?! just ask for immediate payment thru Paypal. Would you buy from anyone that threaten you? Answer this honestly and then go back and try to earn your buyers trust. then, they might reach in their wallet.

"All beginnings are hard".Maybe IT is not good to start my ebay sell in a quick way,
when listing my item,i omit some important things, and i didn't consult other salted person.i will put through the difficuties,

i am optimistic about internationl business. Though the shippment cost may be
a little high from China to other place, the price is attractive.some porcelain on ebay get a bidding at several hundred dollar, but
it maybe much more cheaper in my country

I do agree with Dad and Jim, the threat of leaving negative feedback (in the third linked auction) would turn me off completely.

As Dad said, it's pretty much impossible to get payment to China in 5 days.

It's not a good idea to put threats in your auctions, especially when you're new and trying to build a reputation as a good eBay seller.

I respectfully recommend that you buy a few things on Ebay before you try to sell. That will help you in 2 ways: It will build up good feedback for you, and you'll learn the business from the buyer's perspective--you'll know how the buyer feels and what the buyer needs to hear from the seller after the auction is over, and so forth.

Try buying, say, 10 cheap items, pay immediately. Charge it to your Ebay tuition!

Edited to add: I just looked at one of your auctions, and I suggest you show a closeup of the maker's mark on the back of the plate. Also, get someone to proofread your description; you're spelling "auction" wrong, e.g.

if you are using vendio software, you might also want to use the spellcheck feature on your auctions. and maybe add other payment options, is Bidpay still around?

the pictures look good to me and the changes you have made already make it more inviting.

good luck to you, we all had to start somewhere.

salted person is an experienced person.
someone who eats more salt is an older person, you figure we use salt sparingly.
the dishes are cheap repros of western theme, most bidders look for authentic chinese items of chinese culture from china.
you can get these dishes in dollar stores .
so why pay for overseas shipping??

Stop has a point the plates while nice can be purchased in the US. Remember, the USA buys a ga-billion dollars worth of merchantdise from China every year.
Don't give up! check the second hand and antique shops in your city. There must lots of unique items that would sell well, cloth, jewelry, wood carvings, original art work, tools, etc. Hope you didn't buy to many of those plates!
