My auctions CLEARLY state No Non-USA bidders; and I have checked the "seller ships to US only' on all my auctions.

I listed a 10 day auction that closed this morning. The first day I listed it I received an 'ask seller a question" from a bidder who lives in Germany asking if he could bid on my auction. I replied stating clearly that NO he could not as I had had too many unsuccessful international bidders and now made NO exceptions and he could not bid.

I also received a 'read receipt' from him showing that he had received my email.

The auction ended this morning; he sniped the auction in the last 30 seconds and won! The 2nd high bidder was only a couple dollars lower.

I know there is SOMEPLACE on eBay where you can report bidders who've been asked not to bid on your auctions who do so anyway but can't find it. Anyone know where to find that link? I never thought that I would have to place him on my blocked bidder list when I stated clearly that he couldn't bid.

Ebay should really have a way to not accept international bidders when the seller clearly marks this on the ebay listing page.

Email him your WBN with Bid Pay as your only payment method. I have never turned down a sale. I had a sale not to long ago from a French bidder. Sale was a high dollar sale and was nervous how to mail it. Well come to find out he had an apartent in Manhatten. That was a relief.....

loretab, he might have a US address avail to send to. That happened to me with a British buyer. Only thing to worry is if they use PP, and its unconfirmed.

I don't accept German bids anymore. I've been burned three times by the same German collector who wins and doesn't pay. He even has a commercial German website selling the same kind of collectible items, antique western americana and militaria mostly. He has been booted from Ebay 3 times due to my complaints, but I think because of German privacy laws he keeps coming back. Now I check the bidders on all auctions, and if I see one from Germany, I cancel it and put the bidder on my block list...It's a pain in the neck, but I usually have only a dozen or less items listed at a time, and I don't list constantly. If it's only a few bucks, I'd say offer to the next bidder.

Most definitely report him to Ebay, as this is a violation that will get a person suspended on the first offense. Make a second chance offer to your runnerup bidder. File for your FVF and use as the reason "Failed to follow terms of auction" or some similar wording which is offered as a reason on the list. If this person ignores your TOS and bids anyway, then he probably won't follow any of your other conditions, including paying by Bidpay. This is the type of bidder I would not want bidding on any of my auctions.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Here's the ebay "line" on your situation.

http://tinyurl.com/3yeox

Last week I had an auction for a magazine and a UK bidder sniped it even though I had all the boxes checked for US only. Since he had high feedback and paid by PayPal I accepted the payment and sent the item even though the buyer added a lot of conditions like watertight baggie to prevent wetness and custom slip marked gift and $10. I had a french bidder with low feeeback bid last week and I canceled the bid because new international bidders tend to be a pain and they did not ask before bidding. International bidders bidding when they are not allowed to is a major ebay problem that ebay will have to address sometime.

The first thing that popped into my mind is, will your item ship via normal channels to Germany? I had that happen to me as well, except for my item was too large to ship internationally. Most of my items will ship internationally and I do accept those kinds of bids, but on items too large to ship internationally, I write is specifically in the auction that way. Then of course there are certain things that you cannot ship into certain countries.

In your case, I would accept the bid unless it is one of those other factors. And only accept auctionpayments.com payment.
