I've noticed an annoying phenomenon with PayPal over the last several months. I buy something either online or in person using my PayPal debit card in "credit card mode" and my account is charged 2 or more times for the same transaction. Usually it's only duplicated once but I had one transaction duplicated 5 times. These duplicate transactions have a "pending" status for 10 days, then the funds are returned to my account. This seems only to happen with relatively small transactions, $20 or less. But it has happened at least once a month every month for the last 6 months. I have never seen this happen with any of my other Credit Cards or Debit Cards. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?

Yep. Old news. PayPal has done that since the start of the card. There were many threads here on that same subject. Have you had that card rejected at a merchant yet? That is quite common with PayPals card as well.

toasted36 -I can see how that could happen with restaurant tabs. But none of mine were that. Some were items I bought online, one was a recurring charge for my webhost, one was some office supplies I got at staples. My pet
theory is that some hacker is doing this to thousands of accounts every month, aggregating the pending funds into one account and pocketing the interest. The small amount of money taken from each account is returned after 10 days and few people even notice.

stonecold613 Do you think it could be an ENRONIC "revenue enhancement"?
