I'm not sure what to do. I have been trying to list a denim dress but when I go to the categories, there aren't any. I would appreciate a bit of advice.

If you have:
Spyware or a firewall
running shut it down.
Should solve your problem.

You won't need to do it but once.

At least that solved the problem I had!

Hi Foxy,

What kind of dress? Misses Dresses is 63861, Petites Dresses is 63871, Plus Size Dresses is 63880.

If your dress doesn't go in any of these, please post and I'll try to help.

Lucy

Why we are making these changes:

Since their implementation in many categories over the last year, Item Specifics have been proven to be an effective tool for buyers. Item Specifics give buyers more control over their searching/browing experience than sub-categories offer, thus enabling them to more quickly and efficiently find the items they are looking to purchase.

In turn, sellers who use Item Specifics see higher sell-through rates than those who do not use them. By removing sub-categories that overlap with Item Specifics, sellers will not need to choose the same information twice. (While Item Specifics are not required, listings that do not use Item Specifics will not appear to buyers who use the Product Finder.)

For example:

Today, a seller who wants to list a new denim dress might list in the following category:
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Women's Clothing > Misses > Outerwear > Denim
Next the seller would select the appropriate Item Specifics:
Style (Denim), Size (M), and Condition (New With Tags)

After this category change, the seller listing the same new denim dress can select the following category:
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Women's Clothing > Misses > Outerwear

Ebay, In all their wisdom, was messing around yesterday or today with the subctaegories in clothing. Each of my saved favorite searches for women's clothing quit working properly. Each of my searches normally returns 300-400 results by the way I have them set up. My searches were no longer being applied to specific subcategories in the clothing menu. They were redirected to "all categories" for at least part of the day and each gave over 23,000 results. Not my idea of efficient shopping.

I am truly disgusted with Ebay itself, not the sellers. They continue to make it ever harder to search, thinking thay will force sellers to pay more for one enhancement after another.

I was a disgusted bidder and quit shopping. Actually, I went shopping elsewhere.

Okay, I'll get off the sopabox now...
