How many times do I have to say I HATE EBAY!

Or rather, I have a love/hate relationship with it. I used to sell, but now I am just an avid ( read daily) shopper. I mentioned in another thread here that Ebay was messing with the clothing categories a few days back. Since then, my previous saved searches in women's clothing that winnowed out most the items I was not interested in had gone awry and were yielding 23,000 results instead of 200-400 per search.

It had to do with the apparent roll-up of the women's clothing categories. My searches yeiled rssults for all categories instead of a section of women's clothing.

Now, every one on my carefully crafted searches has evaporated! I mean, it's not that they just don't work right, they are completely gone.

That's a lot of work down the drain. I had many searches in many categories, and POOF! GONE. This stinks like yesterdays' dirty diapers.

I simply do not have the time to look at many thousands of auctions for what I want. It will take me days to recraft my searches with the suspicion thay may disappear yet again.

I search EVERY DAY, using these to look over newly listed items and add choice ones to my watch list for later bidding. Ebay just blithely removed my honed tools for doing that.

The sellers who would have had my bids cannot get their goods in front of me.

I'm sure Ebay muckity-mucks are rubbing their little hands in greed, saying to themselves, "We will make more money when we force sellers to buy enhancements so the buyers can find what they are selling." DORKS! They are losing my business over this and likely that of other buyers who employ searches that same way I do.

I am so disgusted I want to walk away for a week or more until they quit f___ing with what worked just fine. Oh, but I forget - history has proven thay won't stop. They just keep messing up what works fine for buyers and sellers.

If I create new searches, my work will be lost if they evaporate yet again. So, why bother right now while they are likely to continue to mess things up?

At least my favorite sellers list did not disappear. But I usually end up buying from sellers I have not done business with before. I can't find what I want with the searches gone, so the sellers are losing my business.

Okay, I'm off the soapbox for now.

Mine disappeared a few days ago too and then just as mysteriously reappeared a day or so later.

antelope,

Thanks. I guess I should hold out SOME hope that my saved searches will reappear.

Okay, so my searches are back again, but I still have to redo all the ones (eleven) in the women's clothing category. Sigh!

Patty: Are you now saving your searches to a text file locally so that you can edit them when (not if) the next "enhancement" comes along?

Everyone should be saving their searches as well as their AboutMe page and their blocked bidder list.
