Transacton ended mid November 03. Since January, I have been receiving emails from this NPB every few weeks. Every time, they claim they paid for it, and demanded me to ship it. I never received payment, and responded to those emails asking them to provide the payment info. Something that to this day they haven't done. They are located in my town. They called me last week and left a message on my home phone around 2pm. I got home around 5pm that day and the phone was ringing. It was them wanting to discuss the transaction. I told them I couldn't discuss it right then because I literally walked in the door and my auction info is at work, not at home. All the truth. I wondered how many times they called my house after they left the message. I emailed them the following day declining to remove the NPB warning and FVF reversal.

This is the latest email I received today:

"We are also located in Portland OR.
We are very sorry that we have not successfully sent the payment in November.
We had a new employee taking care of Ebay portion of Business in November
2003 and he could not take care of this task perfectly.
As you can see our account, We have been a member of Ebay for 7 years since
1997 and have over 3500 feedback with 99% of positive feedback.
It was not our intention of not paying for your product.
We would love to do anything if you can take our non payment bidder alert.
Since it creates you a task to go on net and check the ebay non payment
bidder alert removal section, We would not mind paying additional cost to you.
Please give us another chance to work it out again."

Ironically, they are suspended. Something that they fail to mention in their email. Not only were they suspended using this account, but they were also suspended using another account before this one. It is obvious they have a history of this.

So, to the real question... what would you do? Blackmail has always been a thought... "Deposit One Million Dollars into my Paypal account and I'll remove the warning." lol. All joking aside, I'm a bit tired of dealing with this person. It was a $8.00 shirt.

Maybe I'm the nervous type, but since they live in your town I would work something out like asking them to pay for the shirt, if you still have it & if not asking them to pay your costs, no matter how small.

It would make me sleep easier if I could work this out with a potential problem with a "neighbor"

They sound a little nutty to me, best to work it out & be rid of them. Be safe rather than sorry.

I agree...I'd say they need the reversal to get back into eBay. I'd stay away from them.

I was going to add: Don't forget to NEG.
But you say they are NARU so you can't.
But GOOD work, Another one bites the dust.
Maybe someday all the Deadbeats will be gone!

Keep those NPBs and FVFs rolling out to the well deserving recipient's.
They reap what they sow!

Politely request that they leave you alone. Upon the next contact report them to the local P.D. for stalking. I am serious.

I too would stay away from this buyer. Sounds a bit scary. Does he have your full name and address? Obviously he has your phone number. I like the idea of warning him to leave you alone. Yikes.

Hello rustgumbo!

I read this board quite often but rarely if ever write. This time however, i am writing to bring out a different angle that has not been discussed.

I agree that you should make up with them - even if only for the sake of not being hounded anymore, but I strongly (& respectfully) disagree with "jacksweb", as I don't think that it is your responsibility to be the policeman of ebay. As long as this person wants to make amends, why shouldn't you.

Furthermore, this person has a high feedback number, and granted, that he or she messed up, I'm of the opinion that after going thru a suspension and groveling on their knees to you and to others that they have been cured. After all, who would go thru such an ordeal on a constant basis?

Just my 2 cents!

OTOH, if you have a Rottweiller, you can invite him over to discuss it.

After all of this time, why don't you block any further emails?? I have NO sympathy with NPB's. There is a good reason they have been NARU'D & you are not to blame. In 6 years on eBay, I have been screwed, blued & tattooed, & have NO sympathy left for losers.

I agree with sanmar-this guy is a loser.Suspeneded under TWO accounts??
If they were so concerned about it,why did they wait over 5 months to take care of it??
Sounds like the criminal whos sorry he did the dirty deed after he was caught-the problem is in most cases they're not sorry they did it...they're sorry they got caught.

Stick to your guns. Even if you did have the neg removed they's still be NARU. It's NPB alerts that mainly get you the boot. Keep a careful written log of when they called and emailed you (keep copies of emails and answering machines messages, if any). Document, document, document. Remember - if it's not in writing, it was never done. I was just recently threatened by an ex-friend. He said he's going to put a hit out on me. Because I have no proof he said that, the police will do nothing. So, the written word (as in documentation) is the best way to go.

I wouldn't back down on this one. NPBs deserve what they get.

Ah! silverexpert I Finally figured out what you were disagreeing to. What I was saying was,,,,,in response to the person saying "going to report them to the police". Going TO and HAVE reported them have TWO VERY distinct meanings. Going to don't have the same POWER as in I HAVE reported you.

Number 1. I have no idea who I would have reported in the First place and 2. I am the LAST one to waste my time reporting or Being the e bay Police. There is another on this board that takes his job VERY seriously burning others while HE Himself violates. He is the vendio board watchdog.

Sorry you read me wrong. millions of violations go on on e bay. Nope, NOT my Job. I certainly,,,,, Care less.

Now it gets real sweet. They are offering me up to $50.00 to make everything right. What would you do now? The item original total was $8.50 plus $5.00 shipping. They must be pretty desperate to do something like that. I'm sure they are weighing the value of selling things on ebay vs the weight of taking a quick $50 hit.

If this transaction was in mid November, then it's more than 90 days old. Check and see if it's in the Ebay database. If not, there's nothing you can do. You can't remove an FVF if it now shows as an invalid item.

There is no link from their feedback list to the auction, but when I manually entered the auction number in the search, it came up.

rustygumbo--"Not only were they suspended using this account, but they were also suspended using another account before this one"

One is not allowed to open a second account if suspended.

Their second ID may have been suspended because they already had a suspended account, not because of you filed a NPB.

If that's the case, they might not be re-instated even if you remove the NPB.

On the other hand, maybe the person who got them suspended on their first account removed a NBP notice and your holding up both accounts.

Could explain why they would offer $50.

If you do take the money make sure they pay with postal money order, no paypal.

to open another account, all you need is a different credit card number. not too hard to do. i have 4 or 5 different credit card/check cards and have two different accounts. one i use for my personal items and one i use for business. being that it is a business, i would guess that there is more than one owner, so it wouldn't be hard for them to simply have their partner sign up. either way, they've had at least one other account that was suspended a year or two ago.

Rusty...If he's willing to pay $50.00, it sounds like he's very anxious to get back on Ebay. You might suggest he sweeten the offer a little, though. I was thinking about a case each of 2 buck chuck for Lucy, Sanmar and Jack. A case of Bud Light sent my direction would be a sure sign of good intentions also. It's kinda like shilling an auction, only this way it's legal

Sparkz, you come up with the greatest ideas!

Rusty, I like Chardonnay, Sanmar prefers Merlot. Not sure what Jack likes... Better ask him.

2 buck Chuck at the local Trader Joes in Portland is actually 3 bucks. shipping would kill me on that deal unless we got him to pay all shipping costs, which of course includes Delivery Confirmation. lol.

I haven't responded yet to him, but today he upped the ante by offering me $100!!! Hmm. Sounds very tempting.

Here is a question. The transaction was in November. If he hasn't left me feedback, can he get reinstated and neg me??? I'm pretty bullet proof on the negs right now, so one wouldn't hurt me. I think when you go over 1000, people just look at the trends of negs rather than how many you have. At least that is what I would hope they would do.
