I saw an advertisement for this website. I understand how it works, but have never heard of them before. Is this the sniping programs that thepriest is talking about that he blocks from his auctions? Does anyone know anything about them?

yes i use them-if you go to the website they will explain the fees etc-they get a small percentage of what the final bid is.I have used other ones, but this is the best one Ive used so far-hasnt failed me yet.

I have a buyer that uses them and at the end of the auction when she wins I get an email stating that is how she won the auction. Anyway someone wants to bid is fine with me. I like sniping the best....rewards are better....

I have used it and it works. You can read the forum postings on their site; that will give you an idea of any "gotchas" to watch out for. If they still offer the free trial, give it a spin. I would suggest that if you are going after an item you really want, don't do that for your first snipe - nothing is foolproof.

I have always wondered what happens if three or four folks are using auctionsniper to snipe the same auction. does anyone know the answer?

Simple, the highest bid wins.

Of course that is true, I was more thinking along the lines of, If the software waits "til the last 5 seconds" would they all get a chance?

Sometimes not. I use esnipe and on several occasions, say 1% of the time, it used to say "failed to make connection". So I'd go an check the item and more often than not, there was a slew of last minute bidders.

1.) Doesn't seem to happen as much as the # of bidders has declined.
2.) It's okay.. you can't win them all and most of the stuff will be back cheaper.

I also use Auctionstealer.com and Esnipe.com

Neither one has failed me. You get 2 free a week on Auctionstealer.com and it is 1% for Esnipe. There are tons of these and I would bet that most are relyable.
