This cretin retracted bids on two of my items. The record seems to show a clear pattern of abuse. Agree?

Mornin' Fluffy,
Yes, I agree... I wonder if eBay ever sanctions a bidder who does this?

We'll find out, Ms. Lucy. I just reported him.
Background. eBay allows bid retractions only under certain circumstances. While the system may allow you to choose a false excuse ("Entered wrong bid amount" while retracting a bid, if you do not immediately rebid the correct amount you can be suspended for bid retraction abuse.
So say the rules.
Let's see if eBay enforces them.

I had a person bid HIGH on one of our auctions on the second day it was listed. They retracted their bid within 13 hours of the auction ending, which dropped the price in half. The excuse they used was "entered wrong amount".
Yeah right...they figured this out 4-1/2 days later?
I turned them in to eBay and they did absolutely nothing.

Feedback Score: 183
Positive Feedback: 99.5%
Members who left a positive: 184
Members who left a negative: 1
All positive feedback received: 472
Hmmmmm His numbers do not make sense:-
How can there be 472 positive feedbacks and a SCORE of 183?
And there are no feedbacks from buyers nor does he have any listings. Louise

No feedback from buyers and no listings = eBayer is a buyer, not a seller
"How can there be 472 positive feedbacks and a SCORE of 183?"
I can't believe I am even answering this one LOL - multiple purchases from the same seller. Only one counts in rating as unique

Oh no! I just read what I had written, and it doesn't sound the way I meant it at all! I am very sorry you took it wrong!
I said "I can't believe I am answering this" and laughed because I never answer any questions here! There are sooo many seasoned sellers here that can identify things at the drop of a hat and can answer questions on a dime - and I am definitely not one of those posters....so I thought it was funny that I was finally getting to answer a question!
I am sincerely sorry for offending you - it certainly was not my intention at all! Please do stay and post!
Thank you, mcjane - I am glad someone noticed that wasn't what I meant!

No, no I didn't take it wrong and didn't mean to imply that I was going back to lucking because of your answer. I am embarrassed that I tried to point out something so obvious. With over 700 feedbacks myself, I should have analyzed that better. I think I had a senior moment and rather than embarrass myself again, said I would go back to reading and learning.

Note to self: Stock up on popcorn and beer. This is going to be good when this sheild bidder tries to come up with a story that hasn't been used at least 100 times before.

So where is she or he?
Unlike Sparkz, who is stocking up on popcorn and beer, I think I'll open up a bottle of Two-Buck-Chuck and a can of Pringles...
This should be verrrrrry interesting!

Wheee! Barkeep, a round for all my friends.
We had such a great morning at the flea market. Found two brand-new LabelWriters, another 16/600 PS printer with the extra-capacity tray, a box of thousands of mailing-size labels (tractor feed), and a Akro carry-box with dozens of little compartments for jewelry parts.

Fluffy...If that was the ham radio swapmeet you went to, how come you brought home a bunch of stuff that represents work? You should have brought home a 80' tower and a tribander to improve the aesthetics of the neighborhood. A 14' parabolic dish for the front yard would be nice also. My wife won't let me take my pick-up to those meets anymore. We ran out of room here

You should have brought home a 80' tower
I tell whats-his-name he can erect a tower in the back yard, no problem.
Just as soon as he buys me a million-dollar house in another neighborhood.
No, ham swap meets are great for bargains. Hams are notoriously cheap, so the stuff goes for a song. I'm in the market for some old Macs like the 500 mhz Titanium PowerBook, but didn't find any this trip.
Next weekend is the former Foothill College meet, which is now happening in the shadow of the Blue Cube south of Moffett Field.
