Hi Niel,
Check out the Me page on this auction. She makes beautiful things and just might be interested in the china. BTW, she's in North Carolina so shipping might not be all that terrible.

Niel: I think it would be okay for you to post your broken china question on the Ebay collectibles message board. Or, if there's a pottery and glass message board (separately), that would be good, too.
Maybe also in the crafts board, if there is one! It may be embedded in the "Home" category. Haven't looked at them in a long time, and I'm too rushed tonight to look now.

Niel, I had a very stern talk with myself when I read you post. Me, "Oooo I am going to ask for it!" Myself, "No you are not! You only need a few pieces for your project and the shipping will be too much!" I listened to my better judgment but I wonder if you sorted it into small lots by color or pattern it would be a possible auction item? I want to mosaic over a broken cookie jar I can not bear to pitch out with the broken pieces of my favorite pottery with a moon and stars pattern. I have looked at thrift stores for chipped china in colors that would work well with the pattern but only need a small number of pieces.
My sister bought a cracked tea pot in Phoenix Bird to make a serving tray for our cousin who collects the pattern. It was not easy to find enough flat shards from the pot and a broken plate in that pattern would have been helpful. If any of the china is a well known pattern maybe someone would want it specifically.

I have it stashed in the garage so need to see what I have. Good idea to sort it by color and list it. guess I wouldn't have to insure it for breakage, anyway. That moon and stars pattern is familiar and somewhere I have some dinnerware with it. will look for that too. Was hoping someone in the S. Fla area would just come and pick it up.

Niel, I did not look at the auction OhMsLucy linked to before I wrote. Still have not checked her sell through but her auctions as the sort of thing I was thinking of.
If you do have any moon, stars, or sun patterns in blue and gold I would love to know about them. My kitchen has a sun, moon, and stars rug and some accessories and I have one broken plate and bowl from my pottery with that pattern. Would love to get some some more for my mosaic project.

There are so many snowbirds who go to Florida for the winter--I'm wondering if there'd be a way you could connect with them in the fall. Or perhaps connect with a crafters' guild in your area? That is, if you don't want to sort the pieces and sell them on Ebay.

Check the craft shows in your area. Look for anyone that is showing things made from broken china. I met a gal about 3 yrs. ago at a a craft fair & we have a great relationship. I take her all of my chipped china & she gives me something in return. I mean something she has made from the brokenm china. OK?

Good idea on the the craft shows. They are over now until the fall but will keep looking. Couldn't find the moon and stars pieces. I must have sold them. Will keep looking tho.

Thanks Niel. I will not get around to the project anytime soon unless my husband gets tired of giving storage space to a glued together cookie jar and decides to pitch it out. I will be happy to buy and pay postage if you find any with moon, sun, or stars.

Sanmar you are so funny. Now why would we think otherwise about your arrangement with the broken china lady.
There is so much crafters and designers are doing with broken china. Some make jewelry, others do mosaic. Don't just throw it away as I am sure there is a call for that.
Don't most ebay sellers have sanford and sons area. As you can tell by some of the pictures that are posted here. Mine is getting a little better day by day. Maybe in the year 3,000 it will be clear.
