You'll get over it in a few days.

Then you'll get a case of "So, why aren't they bidding?!?" crazies.

Dr. Fluffy prescribes macadamia nut caramel popcorn. Or dulce la leche cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.

Answers to Questions Nobody Asked, #154:

The Lighter Side catalogue sells a Mr. Wonderful doll. Squeeze his hand and he'll utter one of 16 phrases, such as: "You look so beautiful in the morning", "Will you marry me?" or "No, you don't look fat in that dress". No word on the Ms. Wonderful doll or what she might say.

fluffys right.. I was doing that....... got like 75% on peoples 'watch' ........ and then say, why aren't they bidding? or WHY didn't they bid?

The one thing that is great is the keyword search. The stuff people put in search is amazing.

I don't think its something I'll buy, I'm still on the 30 day free trial. Maybe later, I dunno, can't really justify the cost of it.

I agree, for the first week I kept checking, got so excited when there were up to 10 watches on some items, but most ended without bids! I was more disappointed than I would have been, because I was so sure there was going to be a bidding war. I am sure that there are a lot of other sellers like me who save auctions to see what they end up at, without any intention of bidding.
A question. Recently someone on this board said that they could see what the amount of the buyers proxy bid was, I can't even decide who the bidder is! I don't find Sellathon that easy to use, but then I'm a senior!!

amber, I saw that post too. I don't know how she saw the proxy bid. I've been all through and inside out of Sellathon (I thought!) , I can't find it, it may have been a glitch? If she came here and told us, I'd love to know this

Anyway, yeah, the keywords is what gets me, I feel my titles will soon look like keywords only, and not really a title! if I keep this up

Yes, the 'Stored in My eBay' is on sooooo many of mine, I just believe people save a lot of auctions, and forget about them.

If I am bidding, and that interested, I will bookmark the auction. I never use the watch feature, but thats just me

Amber & Near -- It was me, and I think that was a boo boo. I don't think I was supposed to see that!

Anyway, get "click happy". I did and that's how I learned Sellathon in no time. Just click on everything that you can and you'll figure it out. It's not hard. And the wealth of information that you will receive will be well worth the cost.

Near -- Who cares if your titles are only keywords? Mine are. I include a gallery picture for those who are browsing and I make my title all keywords. And you know what? My auctions are doing ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!

MAH,

Once you've signed up, I think you need to put the code into your auctions. Could be you need to revise description, paste the code in at the end.

Here's a link that explains what needs to happen. Hope it helps.

http://www.sellathon.com/vtpageinfo.html

I'm very happy with the info View Tracker provides. Well worth the cost, in my opinion.

It's very simple to put it into your auctions. Click the 'My Account' tab. Go into 'Custom Listing Text.' Put the code you were given at Sellathon into the very first box. Easy as pie.

net, I tried that and I got an error. I am trying to do it with SMPro offline. I tried it directly with that and through My Account and still got an error. I used the same code on revisions and do not get an error. Go Figure..

edited to add.....I'll try again..Thanks

I did what Net did and now the NEW items I create have it in them, but all items that were running on eBay before I joined sellathon, don't have it.

I assume I need to go back and retro it into the previous listings, but when I paste the code, etc. in the bottom of the description box, that's exactly what shows up in the actual auction, the HTML jibberish.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks so much,
~RWS

You didn't get the complete code. Most likely you omitted the first "<".

This is a common error.

REALLYWONDERFUL: You have to make sure that the "revise your description" box is in HTML and not WYSIWYG mode - otherwise the HTML comes out as jibberish.

One thing that puzzles me, as I'm using ViewTracker: On the page where those people are touting the wonders of the program, there's a huge, wide display that purports to show about 16 different functions. I don't see that particular display on any of the screens. Is their display just for selling purposes?

And about those keywords showing up in our titles--there's nothing wrong with that! Several times I've listed, say, a book title and author's last name. Zilch. When I change the auction title to the zowie powie stuff in the book, I get bids. People may know what they're looking for but not know a particular title of a particular book. In other words, may not even know to search for that book!

And sometimes I've added a subtitle then with the title of the book and author, for clarification.

But who knows what really works?!?

That totally did the trick! (It wasn't in HTML mode)

Thanks neglus!
