You go onto ebay to look up your favorite childhood toys and they are described as "vintage".

I look at it this way. . .at least they're not described as "antique."

Heck, most of my toys would classify as antique. I wish I had some of them back. One was a toy Zepplin circa 1930. It was big enough for me ride on it. Worth in the 100's today!!

Sanmar -- I looked up a radio that I had when I was a child. I know my parents didn't spend more than $2-$3 on it for my birthday. The bidding is up to $30+ for each one in the color that I had. I sure wish I had saved my old toys. I bought a doll that I played with for $25.00. Believe me, it didn't cost anywhere near that at the time!

Wish I would have kept my toys as well: first Chatty Kathy, first Babie Doll, Baby Cheryl among a whole lot of others. I was the first born child and grandchild and got most of the new toys when they came out. I'd be fairly well off right now if I still had all of them. I do still have my baby Pebbles doll, though. Oh, and I spoil my first grandchild just as much as I was spoiled! It's so much fun!
Speaking of grandchildren, we're dealing with the head lice thing. She's in kindergarten and came home with them. We're all treating ourselves even though I doubt we have them. Anyway, we were in CVS getting NIX. Tiffany complained that her head was itching and to put her at ease I told her that her hat was making her itch. In the loudest voice possible she exclaimed, "No, grandma. My lice are making me itch." I don't know how many shades of red my daughter turned, but the other people in line were all smiles. Priceless!

At age 52, I'm still hoping to discover a box of toys in the parents' attic that they somehow overlooked when they were cleaning things out.
All those Superman comics from the 50's!

I wish I had some of my toys too but I am the oldest of 4 children and by the time the youngest was done with them they wouldn't have been nice enough for the Goodwill. I know for a fact my brother's GI Joe decapitated my Barbies (We were quite worried about this but he's a minister now and isn't a bit sadistic) I often see my "3 year old" doll in Antique Malls so I KNOW I AM OLD!!

When you spend 1/2 hour blow drying your newly washed hair and then grab the air freshner instead of hair spray. Ugh!

That's too funny! How about having your hair all dried and curled and reaching for what you thought was hairspray only to have it turn out to be your spray on self-tanner? Talk about panic! I have blond hair!!!

Cheryl ... my mom, who is 72, one of the younger of 12 children, giggles telling me about her picking up her older sister for an outing, and glancing over to find out that her sister had used red lip liner pencil to do her eyebrows that day! ... what a sight that must have been ... what's awful is that my mom didn't say a word to her about it. ... LOL ...
