Just found talk about this in the eBay Stores Discussion Board. It seems you can design your own cross promotional gallery (FOR FREE) - the tool generates the html to insert in your auctions.

BUMP...This is getting lost and I thought some posters would like to know of a FREE way to create a gallery. I don't have time to play with it now but plan to try it this summer. Is ANYONE using it or something like it now?

Personally, I think it makes those auctions too confusing. Exactly which picture is the item for sale? I had to travel to the top to see the eBay picture to know exactly which one it was. It's rather busy looing to me. Unless there was a way to keep it out of the main description box, I don't think I'd use it. Right now I'm happy with Vendio's version.

Oops I forgot to link to another (less busy) example - I will try to find it (I HATE THE EBAY DISCUSSION BOARDS GENERALLY).
The point is you can design it yourself. Vendio gallery is just TOO expensive if you are running a lot of listings and probably too expensive if you are running just a few. If you fall in the middle group, it's great (although I'd say it is too busy when located at the top of the listing as well).
For the time being I am galleryless - though I guess you could say an EBay store is a giant gallery.
