Good thing they go to bed in a couple hours cause I am done with them for the day.

Three mails from people informing me they they are sending payment in forms I do not accept

Two from people who state that "their paypal" does not work so cannot pay. (I guess their mailboxes are borken too)

Three wanting to know if I shipped their items yet, two were actually responding to the notice I send when I ship

.......... It's margarita time!! I'm feeling mischievious.. I'm off to find pomegrante juice!!

Take a lesson from fluffy and assume a critical persona when working, then 'shelf' it when you are off the clock. Not perfect, but with experience you can switch off your annoyances until the next evolution (work period). Of interest, hate is a product of memory, if we don't recall the negative event we don't hate. This is the origination of 'buttons' created in previous relationships that get pushed. When you have a negative event, it triggers the memory cascade of similar events you have had in the past. Don't grit your teeth.

I believe you have a viable solution, recommended by famous psychiatrist Dr. Crane.

Wow, that is way too much psychology for an ebay message board. The margarquita sounds like a much simpler solution!! LOL. Hope you enjoyed it, fenix!

Park - I am short on patience due to stress and lack of sleep because on Sunday my beloved monster (cat) disappeared (probably catnapped). I've had him for years and adore him. I am constantly laughing at his antics (I have spoken of his gifts of birds and mice here a few times). He's my little buddy and I miss him dearly.

Between that and my customers today I had just had enough. I'll deal with them again tomorrow, today I needed a break and a couple pomegranate margaritas. Both have been quite helpful.... now if my monster would just return..........

Preferably not a bird!

As an avid birder I struggle with the fact that 10,000,000, that's ten million, song birds are killed by cats every year.

I hope your cat is OK

Thank you guys. My hope is that someone saw him outside and thought he was a lost kitty and will see the flyers I put up and give me a call.

Hiker - I live downtown, our main bird population is mainly pidgeons and we have more than we'll ever need.

fenix: My heart goes out to you. I also have a Monster (yep, that's her name), the smartest and most empathetic kitty around. I would be devastated if she disappeared.

A few years ago one of my other cats disappeared. Five days after I was walking down our street and spotted her high in a tree. Who knows if she'd been there the whole time, but sometimes cats do get scared and hide out for a long while. I'm hoping that's what happened to your little guy.

Fluff - Thank you. With us being in the center of downtown there is plenty to freak a kitty out. He usually hangs out in he closed parking area behind my building. He stays close, always comes when I call, he just really likes being able to be outside. My hope is that someone that uses the parking area thought he was a "stray" and took him home but now that flyers are up in the lot and the two buildings it serves I will hear something.

Fenix,

Let us know what happens with your cat. I know if our dog disappeared we would be inconsolable. When our present dog was a puppy she could find ways out of our fenced yard that you would not think a mouse could get through. She never went far but when it happened it was heart stopping.

It seems to me that some posting IDs say a lot about the state of the poster's heart.

Hope the monster is home soon.

Might be locked in a garage or something. Also, check high places, Rufus dufus has what I call the roof diet. After about a week he's desperate enough to come to the can of food the fat guy on the ladder is holding out.....

fenix, I'm sure you've already thought of it, but in case you havent, have you checked with the local aspca? maybe somebody scooped him up and turned him in there?

I'd be terribly upset if my buddy was lost, too. Hope he comes home for you!!

Fenix- Also check with the Humane Society as well as your county's dog pound. I know that they are constantly receiving strays everyday.

Fenix,

I'm definitely not a cat person, don't even like them, but I do feel for you.

I'm sending LorLor out to look for your kitty.

Don't give up hope. My friend had Lucy, her African Grey, on her shoulder. They were outside (which is not a good idea...) Something startled the parrot and she flew.

Three months later my friend found Lucy at the Pasadena Humane Society, which is several miles from where she lives.

Lucy

P.S. Yes, the Grey IS named after me...

fenix,

Also, look under any bushes in the area. My little cat (Pi-Wacket) hid under a bush for 2 days before I found him. He was a house cat and was frightened of being outside. Also, when you contact humane society ask them for name and numbers of local rescue groups for cats. It's not uncommon for someone to pick up an animal and give them to a rescue group for adoption.

If amyone is interested, I got the name Pi-Wacket, from the old movie "Bell, Book and Candle". It starred Kim Novak. She was a witch and her familiar was named Pi-Wacket. I fell in love with the name.

Don't give up hope!! He may stroll in one day and look at you like: "Hi, Where have you been?"

I can understand why you hate all your customers. If I lost one of my babies, I'd hate everyone too!!!

No word on him.

Because of where he disappeared from, my belief is that someone thought he needed adopting or just had seen him, wanted him, and took him home to someone for Mothers Day. He can't get out of the area by himself, there is nothing for him to accidentally become closed up in and the two places he dashes two when spooked both lead directly to places that would allow him to come home (one is the the window box that has been open since he disappeared just in case he wanders back in, the other is a sliding glass door which he or his buddy would alert me is he showed up at - I also keep that one open during the day just in case.

I have called the humane society (like pulling teeth to get them to help), check the animal control website daily (they now enter all new animals on their site to make it easier) and put up flyers in the area including the only three ways anyone can get out of the parking area where he was. The fact that I have not heard anything is what makes me at least hope that whereever he is, someone really wanted him and he will be ok. Maybe I am just justifying to make myself feel better but since it's working, I'm not arguing.

I keep the story of my mothers cat in the back of my mind. He disappeared for almost a year and they had long given up ever finding him when one morning he showed up on the roof outside her bedroom window like nothing had ever happened.

In the mean time I am dealing with another cat who I think is now blaming me for the disappearance of his buddy because for the past few days he won't come near me and this one is stereotypical super affectionate black cat.

I'm not sure what to do if the monster does not return soon. My other cat needs a buddy but I don't think I want another cat right away and if he does come home, he's going to be none too pleased about a new cat in his house.

Thank you all for you kind words and wishes. I'm not giving up hope. If there is good news I will definitely let you know!

About the humane society, best to go in person, not easy to do because you feel so bad seeing all those lost & unwanted dogs & cats.

We lost our dog, called & they didn't have him. We went down to look anyway & there he was.

I feel so bad for you.

Jane
