I need to send a package to Canada--Under two pounds, By USPS. Anyone know which service (post, airmail, etc) is better? I use endicia and there are a lot of options, but I don't know which to choose.
Thanks in advance.....

Cramer--if it's a book-shaped package, you may be able to fit it in a Global Priority Flat-Rate shipping envelope--I think it would be $7 total.

I'd use AIRMAIL LETTER POST, and insure with DSI or U-PIC:

Service summary for your 2 pound Airmail Letter Post to Canada:

Itemized Service Summary Service Item Price
Airmail Letter Post $6.35

If you have to use USPS INSURANCE, then you HAVE to ship via USPS AIRMAIL PARCEL POST -- just play around here:

Isn't that confusing? Airmail Letter Post! Makes it sound like it has to be a letter when actually it's everything under a certain size! Wonder who thought that gem of a title up?

I'd use AIRMAIL LETTER POST, and insure with ENDICIA INSURANCE:

Service summary for your 2 pound Airmail Letter Post to Canada:

Itemized Service Summary Service Item Price
Airmail Letter Post $6.35

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOTAL CHARGES $6.35 + $1.25 INSURANCE

SIMPLE!!!!!!!

Have you actually done this?
I thought that the only way to use Endicia insurance on internation mail was with Global Express.

YOU'RE CORRECT! And I'm incorrect -- E-Insurance donna cover INTERNATIONAL yet -- so, I'd use DSI for AIRMAIL LETTER POST

whatnot3....I noticed that I cannot print Endicia insurance out with this.

Do I have to take this in to the po? I usually just have pickup. Anyone know? Thanks..

The post office won't sell insurance on letterpost either.
As far as I know, you have to take any international mail to the post office counter. (except maybe not if under 16 ounces??)

NO!

I was INCORRECT!

Endicia Insurance donna cover AIRMAIL LETTER POST yet!

DSI & U-PIC (regular) do though

USPS INSURANCE is NOT available for AIRMAIL LETTER POST -- HOWEVER, it IS available for AIRMAIL PARCEL POST...BUT PARCEL POST costs 2X as much!

Actually they probably never will.
I emailed them with a few questions about the new dazzle version and they said that because of no tracking they probably never will.
Global express mail has tracking so they offer it for that,

Whatnot: Why not?

ENDICIA INSURANCE is JUST plain ole U-PIC -- just EASIER to use, & U-PIC covers international shipments WITHOUT tracking, just as DSI does...

So: whatnot, whynot??

Cramer,

If you check the postage on the USPS website DO put in the dimensions of the package. I got nailed on a package that was oversize.

My own fault - I didn't check. It ended up costing $4-5.00 more than I thought it would.

Are you sure it is the same? Why do they give a choice for either of them on regular mail?

I have no idea why they won't do it if it really is U-PIC. Here is a copy and paste from the email from them:

Endicia insurance on airmail & surface mail is not likely to come up soon due to the lack of tracking.
