OK, here's the story. This was a Half.com transaction, and I'm not surre if their rules or eBay's applies to this:
A) Buyer buys a game, and I send it to him.
B) Next thing I know, I have a NEG for a defective game. No contact at all. I return the neg and move on.
C) Several days later, I get a message wanting to return the game for a refund. I explain, as far as I'm concerned, feedback is the end of the transaction. Have a nice day.
[Just to add: I'd have been very polite and given him a full refund if he'd simply let me know he had a problem. But a neg out of the blue just isn't the way to get on my good side!]
D) A couple weeks later, I get a Paypal invoice from the guy, and he still wants a refund. I ignore it.
today I get this:
> Brian I still have not received my refund for the fradulent claim, I will
> make sure you receive more negative feedbacks.
To which I responded explaining my side of the story and that eBay has a harsh veiw of feedback threats.
So who do I contact at eBay/Half about this? Should I contact them now or wait to see if something happens?
My Half.com feedback is kind of sucky anyway, and it'll be totally worthless in another month or so anyway, but I'd like to head this off before it gets out of hand...

I just deleted all my Half.com listings. Nothing's happening there, and I want to be rid of that bunch!
Someone here will be able to help you with this buyer problem, I'm sure.

Actually, I'm not a bit worried about Half one way or the other... but I'm hoping the guy doesn't find out I'm an eBay seller too.

Just exactly how is planning to make sure you receive more neg fb's?
Maybe he'll bid on your items.
No, wait - you'll block him right?
Maybe he'll tell all his friends to bid on your items and all should leave negs.
No, wait - if they do that they will be guilty of fraudulant feedbacks and they will be kicked off ebay.

I agree. Since he left you a negative without attempting to contact you first for a refund, as far as I am concerned, no refund is forth coming. A negative = no refund, period. End of story. Block his ID on Ebay and move on.

stopwhining - "Is it defective?" I really don't know. He's never really explained the problem or even asked to RETURN the game, just keeps saying that it doesn't work and he wants a refund.
As I said in my first post, I would have done the return with no problem if he'd simply been civil about it. But at this stage [post feedback & threat] I don't really care one way or the other if it works.
parklane - "There's a seller on the east coast that feels that way. It will be a year or two, but she is wrong"
This is probably just as debatable as the great "when to leave feedback" discussions. It really depends on your own customer service policies. In a case like this, I don't WANT the customer to come back. Why reward such rotten behavior?

You are exactly right in the way you are handling the situation. eBay urges the bidder and seller to try to work the situation out BEFORE leaving negative feedback. It's posted in red letters when you go to leave feedback. This bidder chose not to work things out, IMO. His loss.
