I filed a NPBA after I received a bounced check from a foreign buyer with a US bank account..turns out it was a mistake (used the wrong account) and he promptly replaced the bounced check with cash. He has asked me to remove the the alert..I never filed for FVF. How do you remove the alert? I can't find it in the site map or sellers guide. Thanks for help.

That's what I thought. Thanks Fluffy - now to explain it to the buyer

Just tell them that they are in no danger as ebay doesn't attach any penalty to the alert. What else can you do - it was their error after all
Better hold that item for awhile to be sure that the second checks clear.

Did he pay for your bank fees, also? How about your time spent on his 'problem'? Just pointing this out, and curious if it would be more expedient to block the bidder and snub him?

The second payment was a cashiers check - the merchandise was shipped long ago and mutual positive feedback given. Yes, he paid my bank fees. He has 300+ positive FB - I really think it was an honest mistake and he just wants to make sure he keeps his good name at eBay.

You could give him a link to this message thread. So he could read for himself.
Hey Mr. customer. Because the Non-Paying bidder alert did not get escalated, the whole matter drops from Ebay's system like nothing ever happened. Glad to hear that things did eventually work out.
