Sure seems like my sales have dropped greatly in the last week or so. Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem?

It's the dreaded summer slump. It seems only too soon this year the "no bids" have arrived. Some things still do well but overall it is slow going in summer.

I'm starting to stockpile things and getting ready for the fall. Getting photos taken and auctions written so I won't be too swamped in Sept.

Book sales usually go down a bit during the summer, too.

People are out and about, not sitting in front of their computers

Last month my sales fell to 1/2 of what they had been, but the last two weeks they seem to have picked back up again.

Surprisingly, my best night has been Wednesday for the past two weeks. 90% sell-thru with multiple bidders.

My hits are down a bit, too. Just a hunch, but the last two weeks have featured so many ends of long-running sitcoms and last shows of some of the reality stuff, etc. I know I"ve been watching TV a little more than I usually do, and I wonder if it's a trend.

Yes, summer slump can hit and soon, if not already.

My sales are down drastically. I keep trying different types of things to try to get some interest going. Things that are usually sure sellers are just sitting there.

It really varies, last week I had a great week, the week before was pretty off, and the week before that another great week. I don't see a pattern here. I do know that Memorial Day weekend is coming up, that has never been a good time for me to sell, so I will only be doing relists this coming week.

It isn't just eBay, our web sites have slowed down considerably too. Between holidays, and Mother's day, graduation, proms, etc. etc., it is usually slow. I won't be taking advantage of eBay's 1 cent gallery, 1 cent subtitle, etc., which auctions will normally end on are around Memorial day.....think I'll let things ride and point toward Father's Day with our one male oriented web site.

Actually sales have spiked in our little niche. Shame that many of our competitors are on holiday... but now we can unload inventory at decent prices!

YMMV

This is the same pattern every year that I have been doing auctions.

January excellent sales month. Many after Christmas "bargains" to be had.
February, slowing towards mid month on.
March, early in month, ok but still slowing.
Mid March to April 15th, near dead because of Tax time.
April 16th till Memorial weekend. Very good.
Memorial Weekend to one week after Labor Day Weekend. Summer slump vacation time. No one sitting in front of their computers as a rule. Sales enough to keep interest at best.
Mid September, kids are back in school and online shoppers start to think about holidays.
October 1st, holiday sales spree gaining momentum to full speed ahead. Mid October through November best sales period of the year.
1st week of December, sales slow as most online shoppers are set. You get a lot of I am in a hurry shoppers till just after Christmas.

When the sales cycle bottoms out you might want to follow our lead and become a buyer. Spent the past few days sniping competitors auctions, often for pennies on the dollar.

Great time to pick up cheap inventory using our "buyer-only" eBay IDs. Actually ended up buying back several items from someone we previously sold them to, but heavily discounted as their auctions have poor layout, and titles plus listed in wrong category. No wonder most bidders couldn't locate their listing...
