Me, my computer, this morning.
Not a spoof email from ebay though, I guess it got in from a website or in email.
Comp got slower and slower- wouldnt go anywhere - so I rebooted. When it came up it had a "need to check a file" message and I let it go ahead. it didnt ask, it just counted down to x many seconds to stop it. I didn't.
Took 2 minutes to "check the file" - and I went on to eBay again- or tried - THAT'S
when I got the message ( a window, not an email)from eBay to confirm an email- and yes, I added a new email address about a week ago.
Opened it and didnt like the look of the IP. What had happened was the phishers had routed me thru their IP to wherever I went.
Backed out and shut down, went to a friends, changed my important passwords and then came back here and OFFLINE burned it out.
Googled the IP and ended up at a scam- watch site out of England- and learned that this was going on thru that IP but via emails.
Also learned that the servers are some fine upstanding Internet companies with IPs very close to ebays.
scammer IP 66.135.192.87
ebay IPs 66.135.192.23
66.135.192.25 these are from old EOAs from ebay, I'm sure they have a bunch.
You may want to check this site for details on other scams out there now.

First, NEVER click on a link in an email. Go to eBay directly. Second, if you'll notice on the copy of the eBay page, the links across the top are wrong. They leave out the "register".
Here is what it should be: home | pay | register | sign out | services | site map | help
Here is what the spoof is: home | pay |sign out | services | site map | help
Forward this information to [email protected] if you haven't already.
