Hi there;
I haven't been selling for 1 1/2 years due to family circumstances, but before that I found that summer is very slow for sellers: low traffic and low prices.
Now I would like to sell just to get rid of stuff and make a little money.
Should I start this summer? Will I be wasting my time and getting even lower prices?....thanks, arden

Arden: I suspect it all depends on what you sell. I've found summers to be slower but not totally dead, and I'm going to sell this summer but in a limited way, to clear out some of the lesser items I have. You could try it and see what happens.

It takes a few years of hard knocks (and I'm still getting those knocks) but you learn what sells best in winter and what sells best in the summer. Sporting goods, camping, gardening and breweriana things seem to go good in summer. Just remember, many people are on vacation and away from the computer because of the longer days and good weather so 10 day auctions and later closing times might help a little. Don't forget the international market also. It's still winter and people are snowbound and trapped in their homes surfing Ebay in many parts of the world.

Summer is clearly the slowest season for online sales. It is a good time to keep a handful amount of items to keep the interest.
Two things to do. First, take a good vacation.
Second. Organize your auctions so you can list like made beginning in Mid September.

I was thinking of this today, too. Generally slower but then again, I dont know too many people doing vacations any more? At least not very long ones and if they can afford it they probably staying where there is a computer, or bringing one. :-0 except for maybe camping.
But does anybody know what percent of people ebay all the time an what percent just when they think they might want to buy something they cant get somewhere else or at a comperable price?
