Thanks for the reminder, ain'trichyet!
Actually, I checked with PayPal yesterday and they say their investigation is now complete and no further action is required from me at this point. What that actually means, I don't know but by CC company took the charge off of my card and it hasn't reappeared.
I haven't heard hide nor hair from the seller and I guess she is having to absorb the loss from her "insurance" fund, the one where she charges buyers for insurance but never actually buys any. I hope she learned her lesson, but probably not. Oh well!

Expect Paypal to be vindictive, it is part of eBay's corporate persona. Like fluffy said, your actions will be viewed as going behind their back. Let us know when the other shoe drops.

this may soon turn into a problem for us sellers with business/premier paypal accounts-
as paypal says they dont get involved with 'item not as described' cases, buyers will file chargeback with their cc company (and i suspect more will do so as they find out ),paypal will just turn around and withdraw fund from the seller plus a 10 dollars chargeback fee.
what can we sellers do??
either downgrade to personal account and accept paypal fund only or ASK THE BUYER TO TAKE OUT PAYPAL INSURANCE FOR ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED.
of course,it is hard to ask buyer to do so right after she wins the auction(what do you mean item will not be as described??),so may be we sellers will have to buy the insurance for them to protect ourselves against chargeback.
what do you guys think??
you know what you sell and what are the odds that you will get an item not as described chargeback!!
