I'm stumped on how to list this particular pattern so that it will come up on a key word search. It's a pattern for China dish separators or China plate covers. The finished items separate China to keep them from scratching. Here's what the pattern looks like:

What do the china sellers call these? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Diane, are you sure they are meant to go between plates? They seem far too pretty to be crushed between plates. I think they would sell far better as doilies. Also, they look quite thick, and it seems as if they would make the stack of plate high and unstable.

Yes, the magazine calls them "China Plate Covers", but I know that those aren't the correct keywords for it. What is usually put in beween China plates to store them without scratching each other? And what do they call it? I thought it is something like "plate protectors" or something like that ... Thanks.

I think I would called them "hand crocheted plate separator protectors"

bizzy I use either napkins or paper plates to separate my China. lol. I don't think they are plate separators at all. I think they are hot pads. Search Crochet hot pads and see what comes up. They are much to heavy for separators and much to pretty to store. I just bought small ones like that, not white but multicolored, and they are hot pads. Popular in the 40's, 50's. They were probably stored in that box and the label doesn't mean anything. Good Luck with them. I will be listing mine.

Diane are you selling the pattern or the finished product? I guess I wouldn't worry too much about the key words because it sounds like it's not something that people use in the 21st century (I use cheap paper plates too) but they are lovely!
