I am actually not that annoyed or anything like that, just find it odd that I go more than 7 years on ebay with only 1 neg, then all of a sudden get two in a week! Life goes on, my volume has gone up recently so it is bound to happen. Both from newbies too...

It falls under the nothing you can do about it so why be annoyed category. I suppose if I want to put a positive spin on it (no pun intended) I do have in my terms of service that if a negative feedback is left WITHOUT contacting me first to discuss, then that is the end of the transaction. Since I deal in used items, from time to time things aren't going to work. I figure if they don't have the decency to give me a chance to fix the problem, they get to keep what they got, working or not working.

Unbelievable, 1 neg in 7 years & now 2 in the same week from newbies no less & probably undeserved.

I would be furious because these jerks have no idea how the FB system is supposed to work.

Your right, why worry, what's done is done.

But, I do hope both are very unhappy with what they bought & now get to keep.

I hope you didn't leave positive feedback for them as soon as you received payment. If not, neg them back and tell them it will only cost them $20.00 each to clear up the misunderstanding. Better yet, make it $40.00. Twenty for you and twenty for SQT.

Last year, I was hammered with 4 or 5 negs in a month. It seems as though they see one person do it, and they think it is the only way to handle a problem.

I've started filing FVF warnings without leaving negs immediately. I wait a few weeks and then file the neg. It has seemed to work better that way. Whenever I get a retaliatory neg, I email them and let them know they need to take responsibility for themselves instead of retaliating for something they deserved. It is childish to retaliate when they are the ones who didn't pay.

Slacking off, no! I sell used items. There is always a chance that things will not work, I think buyers should (emphasis on should, and most do) realize that there is a chance things may not work as well as they should. That is why I state in my terms, and on my invoice, that if there is a problem, contact me. I'll go out of my way to right a wrong - It's good customer service, and I've found when I refund for something, sometimes that customer will become a repeat customer and buy a LOT because they know they won't get ripped off.

It is against ebay's guidelines to leave a negative without contacting the seller first. It is is also against my terms of service, because quite frankly it is rude, and unreasonable. I gave up leaving positive feedback first a long time ago. These guys got negs from me because they did not abide by my terms of service, and did not follow ebay guidelines. Yeah, I know some will cry retalitory neg, but I don't care! These will eventually get burried, and deep. 100% is gone, but that is ok.

You ain't seen nothin until you get 10 negs from the same buyer because I made an error in shipping charges. He bought 10 identical widgets & sent an invoice with the shipping charges on each one. If he would have contacted me, I would corrected the error. Instead he paid & then negged me. I wrote him & told him I was sorry, but no refund unless he removed the negs. Never heard from him.

I can related. I got a neg from a NPB Recently, July would of made four years without a Neg. Oh well.

I recently started selling used items. The other day I get an email from a guy who says he is thinking about giving me a neg because the item has a tear and I didn't disclose it in the auction description. Well, I didn't notice a tear. In fact, I photographed the item, packed the item. Provided a huge scan of the item. What I didn't do was use a microscope. errrr

Must be the stars are out of whack for everyone. Got two negs (the first in over two years) from a NPB that we turned in for multiple FVF refunds and alerted ebay that they may be in cahoots with a competitor in our category. Also alerted ebay to potential shilling on same competitor's auctions - so hopefully one or all of them will be soon NARUed

Update - I just got one of them mutually withdrawn. Here is the email from the buyer - I told him that I would offer a refund after feedback was withdrawn, and it was

"i dont want a reufund, i might just keep the movie unless you have a copy in better condition, and then we could forget the whole thing, i mainly just wanted to get the feedback withdrawn"

So, for all you doubters - Feedback, especially negative feedback left for a buyer after you get undeserved negative feedback is a good option. I am glad buyers are so concerned about feedback, I am back up to 100% now...

You might just get the negs removed if eBay agrees you have proved your case.

Anyone know if there is a time limit on mutual neg FB removal?

JACK: No I was not a newbie, Unless you figure 400+ feedbacks & 5+rs. a newbie. I made a mistake I will pay for it. Still over 98% pos. fdbck. I would have gladly given credit on shipping if he had just contacted me.

Sanmar...It wouldn't hurt to try to have them removed by claiming feedback bombing. If I remember correctly, it's been almost 90 days so you need to make the request tonight or tomorrow before they scroll out of the database. All they can do is say no, and they just might agree that it's feedback bombing and remove them.

Jack,

You deserved the neg. You accepted the shorted payment and didn't send the item. If you accept the shorted payment, it is considered payment in full. You need to reject the payment in order for you to be in the right. You are in the wrong and should appologize to the buyer for giving him/her a retalitory neg.

ebayvet, is my understanding correct with the mutual withdraw that the comments stay there, but the neg is just removed from your percentage fb points? Or do they removed it entirely?

The comments stay, the score changes though. I get about 50 feedbacks a day, they get buried very quickly. For my buyers, they will be there for a while.

I just got a neutral for a deadbeat I filed FVF on! He got a nice big fat negative from me. What is it lately??? This guy was no newbie, and he had a perfect feedback record (note, emphasis on had)
