Just sharing my experience in hopes of helping someone else from avoiding the same.
A few months ago I contacted a distributer/manufacturer in China about purchasing from them. over the next 6-8 weeks I recieved a CD of their products, pricing, discussed color availabilities and so on and so forth trading regular emails back and forth with the rep who initially responded to my inquiries.
About two weeks ago we finally got down to business, I emailed my order to confirm pricing and get shipping costs and information for sending payment got everything confirmed and trotted on down to the bank to wire the payment. When I returned I emailed the rep with the confirmation info on the payment and asked for some additionally pricing info on some items that I did not have. No answer, two days pass, email again, no answer. two more days and I decide to email from a different email address using a different compnay name making a "first time enquiry". I get a reply in 30 minutes but from a different person. I explain who I have been working with, send a copy of the order and the transfer number t o get confirmation of receipt and.... the rep no longer works for the company, has not for two months, they have never seen the order. After a couple more emails we confirm that the bank account is not their companys account.
It's a pretty rare type of situation but by nature of bank wire transfers one that could be happen again so I thought I'd put that bug in others ears just to try to help avoid it happening to any others.
I have put in a recall order on the transfer and to the companies credit they are bending over backwards trying to assist me even to the point of contacting their former employee and threatening him with local legal action if the funds are not either returned to me or transfered to them to enable processing of the order (He continued to use the company email address so I guess they are using that as grounds for legal action). Since I really do need the items I am still placing the order. On hearing this the owner had the order compiled within two days-weekend days at that (normal turn around is listed as 10), and then took it upon himself to photograph the order and email me the pics for reassurance. Wish me luck

Please keep us updated. I have friends that speak Mandarin Chinese and one that speaks Cantonese. I got a chuckle out of the fact that Cantonese is hard to understand if you speak Mandarin, because in Cantonese you have to drag your words out. Southern Chinese speak with a drawl, they have a Southern accent! If you encounter any language problems I can put you in contact with them.
Best of luck, if the company owner follows through you may have the start of a great relationship. The loss now may pay dividends in the future. They are just like us, an honorable person is honorable and a thief is a thief.

Stop - with all of your experience I am sure that you are well aware that China is a "Slow To Pay" country. It can take a couple days to a couple weeks before wire transfers are completed depending upon the bank and unfortunately, wire recalls fall under he same delays. Problem with this recall is that if this person has withdrawn the funds, there may be nothing to recall so I am playing a wait and see game and quite frankly, not expecting good results.

i do not do business with China,so i am not familiar with the wiretransfer situation over there.
I have never heard of a wire recall, once it is done it is done unless the bank makes a mistake.
Thats why crooks love wiretransfer, say you wire me some money and i ship you some rocks.

Wire transfers can be cancelled and recalled, they are not all that infrequent apparently since the bank has the forms right there at the fingertips and knew right where they were. Of course, the recalls are not always successful but they can at least attempt them.
