Can anyone recommend or suggest a reliable, quality and reasonable merchant credit card account issuer? I'm looking for something as an alternative to Pay Pal that would cost less to use. Thanks!!

Hello,
This question has been asked before and given some thoughtful answers however this time the "experts" seem to be busy elsewhere.
Have you talked to your bank? They should be willing to give a little guidess and and training. The cards are NOT cheaper than PP and not as useful. Pay pal with all its warts is the easiest to use so many buyers will not even bid unless the seller offers it.
Kind regards
David

i agree,if you only sell on ebay, many bidders do not want to give an individual their cc data, not to mention it is not safe to give them over emails.
search and you will find many many outfits which offer such service.
costco has one too.

On the other hand, if you also sell on your own website, a merchant account is a necessity. My suggestions as always are PayQuake and Echo. PayQuake has been my processor for over a year, and the only complaint I have about them is that it takes 5-7 days to deposit to my bank account. However, the low fees make up for it.

My merchant account is thru Cardsevices. my rate is 2.25% + $.25 - the thing to watch out for if you are doing high volume is that you must also use a gateway program such as AuthorizeNet which charges a flat mnthly fee but also puts a max number of transactions in there. If I do over 250 transactionns a month there is a .25 per charge from them.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
