The thousands who took the survey, conducted by A/C/Nielsen, reveal that collecting is more than just a popular -its a way of life.

The top ten are:

Vintage cowboy and western toys, vintage jewelry, McCoy pottery, antique French armoires, mid-20th Century home decor, including Emas-Era furniture and lighting.
It also stated that $1,794 is the average amount antiquers spent on their collections in 2003, 66% collectors are female and 5.6 is the average number of different kinds of collections antiquers possess. 64% of collectors with internet access have visited eBay, 82% say eBay makes collecting faster and easier, 72% say eBay helped them find items they couldn't find before, 66% say they've learned more about their collections, thanks to eBay.
