Went to a local shopping center today and drove by the UPS store there. Big sign in window to bring your ebay items in for sale. Store was empty of customers at the time.

Yes, this is their agreement with that auction consignment company. They will ship items to San Francisco. I have yet to see a sign, but I haven't been home in a while. I will follow this one by talking about it with the people at my UPS store.

I am certain this arrangement will appeal to a certain segment of the population but I am curious as how the the people staffing the UPS store will know if the items brought in are really worth at least the $75.00 required. A lot of people overvalue their possesions.

Don't sweat this situation! UPS Stores will become "The Lost & Found" for all the junk people can't give away. Besides, can you imagine some UPS store minimum wage counter employee trying to determine if an unusual item is worth the $75 qualifying amount? This scheme wasn't well thought out and is certain: a] to PISS OFF UPS Store franchisees who are suddenly losing their asses because their employees are spending more time accepting and doing paperwork on God Knows What items; b] to cost AuctionDrop, the 3rd Party Partner, a bloody fortune in shipping costs with returned unsold items. Conclusion: it will be fun to watch them fall on their faces! Gordie
