This is getting a bit ridiculous. They never did take the May payment from my bank and I don't even have a June invoice.

I'm scared to use pay now because I'm afraid they will take it out double and my total due is over $400 with the two months.

Lindajean -- Ebay invoiced me on May 15th and didn't charge the payment until June 2nd. Then they invoiced me on June 15th and charged me again on the June 17th. I got zonked hard last month! <OUCH> This month I'm paying a little bit here and there so that I don't get hit hard and all at once.

I'm supposed to get an invoice on the 1st and payment deducted from bank on the 21st. But, so far, no invoice so I am wondering what is going on. I think I am approaching the point where they will want payment before I list more.

I don't mind paying them (money is the account) but then they may try to take it out again (and it won't be in the account) so I don't know what to do.

Anyone else who is on the 1st billing cycle?

I'm on the 1st/21st cycle too...they took Aprils payment out on June 2 and then they took May's out on June 25th ...OUCH! So far no invoice for June! I don't think they have converted my account to the new accounting system yet.

Thanks neglus.

They took my April out June 2nd and sent me a "past due" notice on June 5th saying they would take May out in 5 days. I wrote PS support and asked why not wait until June 21st as that was when it was due to come out and that it was definitely not "past due".

I got an answer back that I received the email in error and all was well.

Then, guess what? They never did take out the May fees. So, now I owe for both and don't know what to do. I've been afraid to pay it direct since they appear to be taking it out of the bank anyway and I didn't want a double payment.

Guess I'll see what happens when I try to post tonight.

I got the same email about past due account ..I asked for an explanation but got no reply!

Linda ( or anyone else who knows), am I going crazy? Didn't PS used to get 1.5% bill reduction with Direct Pay? When did they take that away?

I haven't received my June Invoice yet either and I am not a happy camper as they will sent me an invoice from Hell...I sure don't want to send a payment from Paypal at this point, I probably won't get a credit for it. I can really feel for a big seller on this issue. E-Bay what is your problem!!!

P.S. They usually pull mine on the 30th of the month. What do we do at this point,I don't want to be overdrawn on my account either as I don't know when or if they will pull what I owe.

Neglus: I heard about the discount but never saw a penny of it I have always had direct pay and I have been a PS since last November.

MAH: I'm just gonna sit tight and see what happens. I cannot believe we don't have an invoice. Maybe they are getting some of it straight though. I did pay $300 through PP in June and they did not take my June Payment from my bank. Maybe because I paid more than the June invoice? Could they possibly have that bug fixed? Nah...probably not. Probably missed me due to a new bug and I'll wake up to be NARU any day now with all 1249 listings in store and auction cancelled

I still have a total due of $351.00 but nothing shown as past due and last payment date being 6/15 which is when I PP'd the $300.

I think I read somewhere that there is now a class action suit over eBay's billing problems.

I don't wait for eBay's invoices anymore. Once or twice amonth, I log into my account and make a payment for whatever I owe at the moment. Voila! It now makles no difference if eBay is current with their invoices or not--I'm in the clear.

That's what I would like to do.

But, the last email I received from them said something like making payment now could result in double payment as Ebay would take the amount from my bank account.

They have been messed up since April now and if it would just get straightened out I would never ever have a balance showing on the 31st again. Now, with the dollar amounts I owe I'm afraid to do anything until they fix it

eBay sellers file billing suit
CNET News.com
July 7, 2004, 6:13 AM PDT

A pair of eBay members have initiated a class-action suit against the online auctioneer over a problem with the company's latest billing system.

The two eBay members filed the claim on Friday, alleging that eBay failed to address problems with a billing tool that overcharged individuals selling items on its site. In the suit, brought in California Superior Court, eBay members Robert Cerreta and Nancy Spaulding contend that the online auction host double-billed their user accounts after launching a new payment processing system in February.

According to the complaint, Cerreta and Spaulding, who hail from Florida and Ohio, respectively, were charged twice the amount they actually owed eBay for handling auctions of goods they were selling. The eBay users assert that the funds were then inappropriately drawn from bank accounts and credit cards they had registered with the company. In addition, the two customers said that eBay threatened to suspend their user accounts over the disputed charges.

An eBay representative said late Wednesday that the company has yet to be officially served with the suit and declined to comment on the claims.

However, company executives have already apologized publicly for the billing issue. In mid-June, General Manager Jeff Jordan told attendees at the company's user conference that eBay had discovered the double-billing issue, fixed the problem and was in the process of addressing credit issues that had resulted from the gaffe. Jordan acknowledged in a speech that eBay had let its customers down, and he promised that the company would be more careful in launching a new search tool that is one of the company's forthcoming technological improvements.

The billing problem was first aired in the company's own online user forums. eBay's billing team eventually posted messages to the discussion area, pledging to fix the issue and help customers address any mistakes.

While neither Cerreta nor Spaulding was charged large amounts of money as a result of the glitch--each was overcharged about $20--the customers maintain that eBay's payment system also rounds up the dollar amounts it charges sellers without telling them it does so. For instance, they said, eBay now rounds a bill of $30.78 up to $30.80. Despite the fact that the system tacks on only a few cents to each transaction, the customers said the additional charges add up over time.

In the suit, Spaulding also said she was threatened with jail when she attempted to protest outside the user conference, which was held in New Orleans. A copy of the lawsuit has been published on the Web site of the law firm that the two eBay members are using, Fazio & Micheletti, of San Mateo, Calif.

In related news, eBay's PayPal unit recently reached a settlement with customers who accused the company of illegally freezing their funds. As a result, PayPal said it would pay a total of $9.25 million to settle the federal class-action suit, $3.4 million of which would go to paying its customers' legal fees. PayPal admitted no wrongdoing in settling the claims, which were filed in 2002 as part of two federal class-action suits that also alleged other customer service deficiencies.

Reamond, there wasn't anything derogatory or inflammatory in you post. You also seem to have left out the wacko. It just doesn't taste the same, no bitterness or annoying aftertaste. You feeling all right, Hon? It's not like you to serve up a cut and paste.

Yea, eBay looooooves everybody.

parklane64 - what's your problem ? If you'd like to address the issue of the thread, do so. If you'd like to make me the issue, please start another thread.

It just doesn't taste the same, no bitterness or annoying aftertaste.

That sounds almost erotic - are you orally gifted ?

I'm thinking about paying off what I owe through Paypal and I will hope they don't pull it out of the bank too. I think I will do like bunnicula in the future, I like that idea.

I think that it's foolish to pay anything manually to Ebay if you are set up for Direct Pay from your bank account. You run the risk of being paying double. Believe me, Ebay will get around to collecting all the money that it's owed, it's as certain as death and taxes. As I've said before, I believe that this is just a ploy to divert income from one quarter to the other to somehow benefit their stock price. I too am on the 1/21 cycle and I too have not received my June invoice. I have no idea what I owe or what Ebay has taken at this point. I'll go back and check my bank records in September/October when the dust settles. Until then I deduct the amount of my invoice(when I get them) immediately from my bank account. This way there's no cause for worry about the funds being there when Ebay decides it's the right time to take them. No stress for me.

And for those that say "ouch" about paying twice in June....what do you say about not paying at all in May....."oooohhhhh"?
