Last week I receive a message from ebay regarding their claim I was in violation of "Search Manipulation". Why??? Because I used Jimmy Buffett's name when listing an item from the Margaritaville restaurant. So, I shot back an email to them explaining that Jimmy Buffett is the rightful owner of this name, and his is not only directly associated with Margaritaville, but wrote the damn song as well. I also explained to them that accusing me of Search Manipulation for this is like accusing other sellers of using the name Elvis Presley when describing Graceland merchandise.

Finally, today I get this reply, "Thank you for contacting us regarding a notice that you have received.

Unfortunately, the email address that you have written from is not the
email address that's registered to the account associated to the
items/notices you are referring to.

In accordance with our Privacy policy guidelines, we are not permitted
to discuss the details of an account from a foreign email address.

Should you wish to continue discussions with the matters at hand, please
attempt another query via the email address that is registered to the
account in question. At that time, we will be more than happy to
address your concerns.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.

Regards,

Obviously this email was sent to me because I responded using my real email address, not the one vendio assigned me in order to forward emails through their system.

Can anyone tell me how I can use my vendio email address without paying for their service to contact ebay? This is absurd that I would have to go through this trouble for something so asinine as this!

Ansel: Ebay community WITCH, I say.

I don't know how to help you with the e-mail problem, but good luck to you. Wanting to beat the crap out of them is a familiar emotion to most of us!

This is kind of hindsite, but you should have made the e-mail changes to your ebay account when the change happened. Yes ebay is goofed up, but they made the rules and we need to follow them until a real contender comes along and gives them a run for their money.

What email program do you use? It should be fairly simple to do it.

What I refer to is the mailstep program through vendio. That is the email address registered through them because of the delayed WBN problems that Vendio had. I think the address is [email protected]. I just want to know if it is possible to email them through vendio since this obviously creates a problem. Ironically, I have never had a problem with my email address up until now. They pull this crap because they really don't want to bother with it.

If you use outlook express or other mail program then you can just add another account or change the reply to address of your regular one. You don't need to be able to receive mail directly with it to send it.

If you use webmail, try changing your reply to address. (some let you do it)

Ebay is imploding and rather faster than I thought. I quite selling is February (Tho occasionally will list something for a friend).

Ebay site don't work on some sellers if buyer is using Win 98 or older. Ebay caters to the big dump sellers like Sears, et-al and has forced many of us out.

If you MUST still sell on the Internet then get a Webb site and work like a dog to draw buyers.

Selling is a lot of fun (sort of like fishing) but Ebay is no fun anymore so I moved on.

Consider returning to swap meets, cruising Yard sales, estate sales or (Lord forbid) get a standard job.

There are a few sellers still doing well on Ebay but they are less and less in numbers.

As least don't invest your life savings in Ebay selling stock. Ebay is in trouble and don't seem to know it,yet.

Started back on the swap route myself last 4-5 months. Tons of problems, ISP's...all those dumb e mails, everything is in the auction description and they read nothing. makes ya feel like,
WHY do all this typing ???????

Immediate payments. No neg feed backs. no charge backs. the simple life. NO TYPING!

lower prices but, there is NO way I am EVER going to LIST all this stuff anyway....A warehouse FULL.

I screwed up,just got on another contract with an ISP. YEAR!

Keep selling just to cover the year contract payments.

And the Beat goes on,,,,,,,,
