I'm a little more brain dead today than normal lol..I have two pretty framed flower pictures that the glass on the inside has a painted boarder/frame around the flower picture. Is this considered reverse painting on glass? or does it have another name. Heres a pic.

I'll bump this back up for you. I know Roadsmith asked a question about reverse painting but I can't remember the answer. May she will come back in. Do the pictures match? They look really nice.

Hi Libra , Thanks for the bump. They match but have different flowers in each one. The other is wild roses.Same size and color. The pictures are a print and just the grayish blue and white boarder around the picture is reversed paint. Thats why I wasn't sure to call it reversed paint or not since the whole picture is not reversed paint.

It's called a painted mat, sometimes a glass painted mat.

Mat is sometimes spelled as matte but mat is preferred in this context.

Thanks for that info Bob ! I only found one on ebay and it was a gold gilded but it had a ton of info on the process. Learned something new today . Hope I can help you one day.
