Auction states: No paypal, no personal checks etc. Only money orders, cashiers checks and auctionpayments.com accepted. Big letters. (I know, I know I SHOULD use paypal but I don't)
Ok, finally get a chance to take my little boy out for a few hours. come back home and find a few auctions ended with buyers. WHOOPPEEEEEE or not
found message #1
would like to pay for the item that I won ASAP. Please contact me. Thank You
ok, no problem, I was just about to send out the "WIN" emails anyway. Sent theirs first. After all emails are sent I see the most recent email from same buyer,
Message #2 Sent 4 minutes AFTER the first message:
I am sorry - I should not have bid on this item. I didn't read far enought to see you don't take PayPal. I will happily send you a check and wait for it to clear for you to mail the item. Not much of a deal if I have to pay shipping and an additional $1.50 for a money order. Please advise if this arrangement is OK with you.
They bid on a used kids movie They made the first bid, someone outbid them and they made the 3rd and they won! Hello, Can anyone say buyers remorse here. (I didn't charge them $1.50 for insurance, I offered optional insurance for $1.30 ! They have 43 +'s with no neg since 2001.
If I were the bidder (and it's happened to me too) I just grumble and make my way to the post office for a money order.
I know what I can do: either accept the personal check, force them to use a money order or go through the non paying bidder garbage etc BUT = What would you do?

In the last 30 days, this person has bid on over 30 items and won. Half of which do NOT take paypal payments. I wonder if the same type of message was sent to the sellers !

Don't ya just love it when buyers don't read Why not in big letters at the beginning of your description. I do not accept PayPal or Personal Checks. This should get there attention right away and maybe, just maybe, they will back out. Don't count on it though. It's late I need to get to bed.

You could put it at the top of the auction spelled out in all caps with tapdancing elephants wearing multicolored Christmas lights belting out a rousing chorus of "The Pina Colada Song" while sirens wail in the background...
...and they still wouldn't read it.
Give it up. Unless you want to deal with bottomfeeders, don't sell bottomfeeder fodder. Believe me, I know.

Paloma good morning,
hope you dont mine my 2c. i earlier got stung on unconfirmed paypal; so i dont allow that.
----------
then, had a $240 sale; remitted via paypal, unconfirmed.
--------------
notified buyer, and here is what i got:
well then return or refund to me the ebay paypal payment, and i will send you cash when the refund is processed, please forward your name and address so i will have it , and shame on you for being so insecure and distrusting. i have almost three thousand positive feeedbacks...i honestly thing you are so very anal ...it is hard to believe you are in business, after my being an ebay seller and buyer for three years, i have never encountered such negative conduct........i do not know what else to say ,........ tom
-----------------------------
while this is not the same as your predicament; it is still the same problem, i.e., buyers who dont read, or try to tell you how to run your business.
-----------------------
i have a rather successful friend on ebay, who like you doesnt take paypal and doesnt plan to do so..
------------------
do what you must, but it is your business!

I think I'd stick to my terms about taking checks. If she to cheap to buy a money order tell her to send well hid cash. If her check bounces you have a whole new headache with the bank fees. Just find some friendly words and explain why you don't take paypal or checks and that you clearly had your terms in the auction. If she doesn't pay file for FVF maybe a letter from ebay can wake her up.

Paloma, I agree with toasted. Round out Dollar (up or down - depending on how you feel - if you want to get it over with, go down) tell them to wrap it up good and send it. -At least can pay your fees from it?
Once had a buyer from france who send me cash. She wrapped it up well. Shouldn't be a major problem to do that....
