Hi, all: My auctions all state that I take PayPal. This morning, in my new account, I got 5 different messages from an irate buyer of two cheap books. Could someone look at my closed auction--edited and XXXed out-- and tell me what's been "erased"?:

"I went to pay this on Paypal but evidentally you have the ability to erase the "Paypal" section.

Just to let you know , I normally only bid on things that have Paypal. I have let things go because I am just not interested in alternative methods. I am sure that there are others like me who prefer to do things like that instead of the whole envelope, stamp, trip to the post office, and waiting for the check to clear ordeal. That way you pay and get your items in very short order.

I will send you a check. However, you shouldn't advertise Paypal and then delete it.

I know that it is hard to figure out a person's mood by their emails. Since I am going out today to the Post Office to send my kids some things at camp it's no big deal today. Other days it would be.

Since you said that you were new to this I thought I would give you a "heads-up" on what others might also think.

Have a nice day.

Thanks.

Mary"

I immediately apologized for any mixup and sent her a PayPal invoice. She then wrote that she'd already written a check and would send it today and "never mind." I fear I smell a neg or neutral coming.

Poor lady. Sounds as though there are small children around and she sounded harried. I remember summers with the kids underfoot alllll day!

There has been some trouble lately with the button provided on auctions that let the buyer "pay now."

Let your buyer know this, apologize, and tell them to go directly to PayPal topay for the auction--just has to enter your email address, the auction #, and the winning bid and shipping amount.

Edit: Ooops-- just saw thaqt they already mailed out check. You still might want to let them know about eBay's glitch.

Something IS going with Paypal/Ebay's communications to each other. I Hope!

Have a payment in PP without the Ship option in the action field. Its just blank. And this payment is also not showing up in myebay as paid by PP, which it normally will automatically do??
Could buyer have sent payment to me direct to my email and bypassed something here?
How would I know that or check for that? The payment details show the auction# and everything, so it doesnt even seem its that?

This makes me nervous.

Everywhere you say on your page your accept PayPal but there is no logo. Be sure you sent up the logo function and I don't know how to do that. Be sure you are confirmed everywhere you need to be. If that bidder read your whole auction page she would have realized that you accept PayPal.

There is another problem with your auction and it must be ebay related.
This is what it says about one of your feedbacks. How you got that I don't know.

I have now had 4 buyers who have gone to pay with Paypal and found that it says they have already paid. I have to send them an invoice in order for them to do so.

opps Roadsmith eBay and vendio must have different HTML as that is not what is written on your auction page. It is small boxes etc.

I like when yousr buyer said "Since you said that you were new to this I thought I would give you a "heads-up" on what others might also think." If she only knew....(smile)

Thanks, everybody! I sure do appreciate all of you. It's comforting to know that there's a PayPal problem going on.

I'm going into my original message now and deleting the auction number in case relatives' inquiring minds will put two and two together (you know what I'm talking about). ~Adele
