Why can't a customer e-mail a seller FIRST before leaving feedback if she or he is dissatisfied with a purchase? From now on I'm doing what most of you all are doing -- that is leaving feedback AFTER the sale is completed AND the customer is satisfied.

Welcome to He11 kid. we all learn the hard way.

Ebay's biggest hole and possibly worst feature is not making buyers "pay the price" for bad feedbacks, as those of us sellers who "pay the price" for idiots, morons and the like.

You mean,,,,,,,,,You mean you never listened to what we all were saying? It ain't even close to being over till THEY get their "item" Ya got bit? Now you'll believe what you read here. NEVER! how do you spell NEVER. Never say ANYTHING till they do. If they never do ,who cares, you got paid and THAT'S all that matters.

Never should have been any silly feed back thing in the first place. I for one never even knew it existed till I was asked to give feed back when I was told how to get there I had at least 200 feeds from happy people. Boy was I ever embarassed and BUSY replying to all those. Some, many it was to late. long past 45 days.

Ebay should be hearing the complaints and REALLY doing something them when there is a blatant criminal activity.

E bay NEVER lets THIER dirty undies get shown in public, if they can do anything to quell it THEY WILL, and the NEVER admit to ANY mistakes.

NEVER! And that's a long , long time,,,,,,,,,

Oh, Diane, I'm sorry...

I used to leave feedback as soon as they paid. Stopped doing that about a year ago after reading comments here.

I've never had a neutral or negative and maybe that's why... There had to be at least a few out of more than 1000 sales transactions who weren't thrilled. I wonder...

That's so unfair Diane. I think the least a buyer can do is let the seller know there is a problem. I have only had 2 or 3 do that in about 6,000 transactions, but I immediately returned their payment, and as they were not high price items, I let them keep the item. I used to leave feedback on receipt of payment, then if the seller said they had received it, but after being bitten again, I now only leave it after it has been left for me. I don't really agree with doing that, it's just a form of self protection.

I think the least a buyer can do is let the seller know there is a problem.

If the condition of the item that arrives is materially different from the item described and if the buyer believes there is no way the seller could *not* have known that, what's the point of letting them know there's a problem? They already knew and they didn't care.

I got a stupid newbie just this morning Diane. She left this neutral

"it keeps asking me to pay----ALREADY HAS BEEN CHARGED TO MY MASTERCARD"

It being her My eBay. I guess she doesn't know that SHE can mark it paid on her end. Since she's already got the item, it should be clear that I show it paid.

It was the first thing I saw when I got up this morning and before I had enough caffeine. So I lost my temper. She may be too stupid to figure out what she should have done, but I bet she knows she did something wrong.

I think I need a break. All these newbies are starting to bother me too much.

"It being her My eBay. I guess she doesn't know that SHE can mark it paid on her end."

I'll bet she doesn't know that. Many people don't understand the ins and outs, even those who have three-digit feedback. Some still think we sellers already have their addresses.

To be fair, I find My eBay confusing too. And I know my customers do.

I have had several customers ask me about My eBay. That's the way I learned some of what can be done with it. The only thing I use it for is to check how many items have bids and watchers. Vendio doesn't update fast enough. Anyway, if she had asked, I would have told her.

I think eBay should send out a "Basic eBay" e-mail to all newbies. I realize that most of them wouldn't read it or understand it, but at least eBay would be making the effort to educate them. It would be better than depending on the customers to figure it out. Or take the initiative to learn the basics, like IF YOU BID YOU HAVE TO PAY.

Debbie -- I'm sorry that you received a neutral for something that you had no control over. I don't know what it is this month.

The way I decided to look at it is that the majority of the customers that I serve are very pleased with both my items and me as a seller. I have decided to ascribe to the notion that you can please most of the people most of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time. And as such, I will continue to do business the way that I do it with one exception -- that is to leave feedback after the buyers has left theirs.

Diane..I decided that a while back. Here is the numbers on my biggest competitor. He is doing quite well, so I don't worry about feedback much. Just makes me mad when it happens.

Feedback Score: 9464
Positive Feedback: 98.3%

Members who left a positive: 9634
Members who left a negative: 171

All positive feedback received: 13528

He also has 234 neutrals.

Sells a 2oz item for a penny and charges $8 for shipping. He's making a killing.

Debbie -- So by looking at your competitor's feedback, you'll see that less than 1% of his customers are unhappy. I think that's outstanding! I wonder if stores today can say the same thing?

By the way, I purchased one of your items for my mom and she loved it!
