Hi, all. Have you tried to delete any of your vendio templates? I've been told by a moderator there that they can't be deleted--that they're "default" templates. As a result, having chosen several seasonal ones, I'm stuck with their old homely ones (blank, sample #1, #2, etc.) forever, which seems really not customer friendly to me.

I'm bumping this up in hopes someone can answer. . . .

I read this earlier and would have answered, but I'm not sure I understand the problem.

When you want to use a new template just set it as default. If vendio wants to store a-lot of old templates that's there problem.

Thanks, you two. I didn't make myself as clear as I should have.

I don't use the same template for all my auctions. I like to tailor the template I use to the subject matter of the auction item; e.g., a baby gift would have one of the Vendio baby templates, etc.

So - I've picked about 8 of them to use in various situations, and they're all in my "default templates" along with some that Vendio put in there. There seems to be no way to delete the ones I'll never use, which seems to me a glitch in the Vendio system!

Until such time as they come up with a way to delete them, or create folders for them, your best bet is to be very creative in naming new ones. By that I mean, name the new templates you create in an alpha-numerical sequence so that they will be grouped together and always appear at the top of the list when you go to the listing page. Eventually the unwanted templates will get crowded downwards on the list out of sight. I can't understand why they want to delete our images after 90 days, but won't allow us to do a spring cleaning and get rid of the stuff we don't want any more.

Great idea, Sparkz. Thanks! Yes, it does seem odd that we can't delete templates. I asked the moderator the other day to pass the word along that it's going to be a problem for more people than just me. Do you have any ideas where I could go to lodge a complaint/suggestion that would get someone higher up to pay attention??

That's what I do. When I customize a template, I always put Puppies in the name. Because I put my puppy on it. They are all at the top and easy to pick out.

Roadsmith,
I would lodge the suggestion directly with Diana. You'll have to check in to the sales manager forum in services and get her email address off one of her responses. Unless Pirateboy happens to be lurking around here. You might be able to get him to sneak it in the back door for you

Thanks, Sparkz. I can't take the time right now to look at the threads over there to try to find Diana's e-mail. But I've posted the question to her with "Diana" in the title. Here's hoping! She's always very helpful.

Someone in Vendio Services just posted a frustration that templates can't be alphabetized, as they used to be.

Perhaps Vendio can pay further attention to the templates issues.

Here's an answer I just got from Sonya:

Hi Roadsmith,

We will log a suggestion on your behalf regarding ability to delete the default templates. I have checked on this for you and unfortunately, the templates you want to delete cannot be removed. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Sonya

Attn: Vendio users ---
according to the service board, this is supposedly "fixed" now ...

You may now go back to your regularly scheduled programming.

... that is all.

AintRich: This ain't fixed, as far as I can see. I just studied the templates section - again - and don't see it.

There's a "close" button, but that just closes the current template on view. I saw nothing else there.

When this finally comes to the attention of the smart folks at Vendio, someone will fix it in 5 minutes and say duhhhhh.

Here's the message I just left in the V. Services Forum:

Okay, I've played with the custom templates a bit and no dice!

I highlighted "new Vendio sample #1", renamed it. The renamed template is now in my list. So is "new Vendio sample #1." Highlighted "sample #1," was asked "are you sure you want to delete?" I clicked on "okay."

Vendio sample #1 is still on the list.

This sort of feels like the twilight zone! Has Vendio created a "special" version of their programs just for me?? Seems senseless to have samples #1, #2, #3 plus that ugly "blank" template there.
