Someone from the "seller outreach" team called me yesterday. We had a nice chat. He told me how to get my store items hooked up with Froogle.
Also...a nice tidbit. He says that hopefully before the end of the month they are going to roll out a new "hold" feature for the stores. We won't have to bomb our store inventory anymore as they will have a vacation option. People can still buy things out of our stores but each listing will have a "I'm out of town till..." message in it. He's hoping they have it up and running by the 15th but it could be the 1st of December.
More changes...but this sounds like a good one!

I've not tried this yet but I'm cutting and pasting this from the follow-up email he sent. Nice boy. He's calling again December 10th.
Here you go!
eBay uses keywords from your store listings to create meta tags that help search engines find and present your eBay store in their search results. You can now customize these keywords to increase your chances of potential buyers finding your store pages when using search engines such as MSN, Google, Yahoo, and so on. To edit the keywords used go to the ?Manage your store? page and click on the ?Customize Keywords for Search Engines? link found in the Store Builder section.
**
You may want to make a list of your items for sale available on internet shopping sites outside of eBay. I've included links for sending a data feed of your procucts to Froogle, Google's partner shopping site. This first link includes instructions for creating a data file on eBay:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/stores/exporting-your-listings.html
Next, here are instructions for uploading this information to Froogle:
https://www.google.com/froogle/merchants/basic_feed_instructions.html
For information on uploading to other shopping portals, check with their support service.

That sounds great, with over 3000 store items up and running now, and a 15 day vacation coming in December, I am worried! I won't close all the listings down, but I do want people to know I am out of town and that any orders will not get shipped for some time. This will be fantastic.

I'm not accusing Ebay of being cost conscious, cheap or tight, but I gotta know..when they called, did they call collect?

They did not call collect. This wasn't the first time they called either. The last time they called about helping me boost my Seller's assistant business...this time the store.
He also asked how my Vendio gallery was working for me.

Hi Amy,
Okay, so it's a year later, and I'm wondering...
Have you gotten any sales from Froogle, and how would you know if you had?
Naturally eBay calls on their own dime, guys. They've got VOiP. All the companies of any size here in Silicon Valley have had it for years, long before it was packaged as a consumer product for residential use. Costs almost nothing to phone Alaska.

Store reporting enables you to see the referring site on a sale. Should work for Froogle. I have not set up my ebay store with Froogle so I am not positive of that. I set up my Marketworks store instead since they get a lower percentage.

One or two sales from Froogle. I do have people finding my items through google (according to my store traffic report). I actually do get more activity from Yahoo. I believe the yahoo links come yahoo email customers from the direct links to my store I included in my emails.

Diane,
How do you know that you receive hits from Yahoo or Froogle? Is there somewhere to determine or view that info on Ebay or Vendio?
Ebay called me today but I didn't take the call as I was on another line. They probably want to speak to me about my store and how to pump it up for the holidays. How about bringing more buyers back to Ebay? Many of my friends are experiencing very slow times for this time of year.

mamachia -- If you have a store, you can access traffic reports. I found out from there where the hits were coming from. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my items were showing up in the search engines!
My daughter is doing much better, and is now back at school. I just heard from the doctor today, and she did have samonella poisoning. She has to be retested in a few months because it can live in the intestinal tract for up to a year.
Thank you for asking about her.
