OK- Call me stupid, but I thought if I was paying a gallery fee for every auction I ran, then my gallery would show EVERY auction- a continuous scroll from auction 1 to 500 or whatever. Then I noticed that my auction was only showing the same 24 auctions over and over.... are you kidding me?? I then Read more about the gallery and this seems to indeed be how it is set up. Why am I paying gallery fees for the auctions that don't show in my gallery? If this is how it works, I am catching the next train to Cancelville and getting rid of this feature. Someone please enlighten me...

It show 24 auctions in the catagory of the auction that you are viewing. However if you have different catagories the viewer can change the catagory of the gallery. I still think that it is better than ebays gallery of 4. Just my 2 cents. ( I know I'm weird but, I sat and played with other peoples gallerys long before I got my own on V)

Hello --

Please allow me to clarify:

1 - Upon initial page load, the Marquee Gallery *automatically* scrolls through 24 of your items. All of your items beyond this initial auto-scrolling set are available to buyers once they start to interact with the Gallery (see #2 below).
-- This initial active set is limited in order to minimize impact on page load times for your buyers, and is ALWAYS shown in closest-to-close order, in the same or similar category to the item being viewed (unless you insert the gallery manually, in which case it always shows items starting from the root, "All Categories" ). This promotes last-minute buying & bidding on similar items of interest. All your items in a month will, at some point, be in this initial set of items, so, in fact, all the items we import, store and update for you are automatically displayed in the Gallery at some point during the month.

2 - In order for your buyers to view ALL of your items, they must interact with the Gallery by clicking on the right or left arrows, or by browsing the category tree.
-- We do buffer 72 items at a time so that the response time to this user interaction is immediate (rather than issuing synchronous calls to our systems and being subject to possible network delays).

3 - Because of the built-in category browser in the Marquee Gallery, some sellers have found it particularly effective to categorize their items in as narrow and specific a category as possible, so that users have multiple categories to choose from when interacting with your category browser.

4 - With respect to Gallery charges, our Gallery databases hold an unlimited number of items - we import ALL the live items you have on eBay in a month and charge based on that amount (to account for storage, infrastructure to keep the item information updated so it is accurate when we display the information in the Gallery, etc...).

Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.

Thanks --

-- Christina
