refuse to give you his address?

This guy writes and ask if one of my dogs has a tail. He then bid on the ornament and wrote that he didn't want to go through the checkout. No big deal, don't go through it. But he said it asked questions that had nothing to do with the transaction.

I wrote him back that it only ask for his name and address which I have to have. So he said he didn't want to give it. He wants it mailed to his granddaughter. So he pays with PayPal. But he clicks that no address is required and puts his granddaughter's address in the message box.

Now I have a payment with an unconfirmed address. The auction says that it has been paid with PayPal. When I wrote him back, he said the customer is always right. I have a payment and an address, so do whatever I want.

It's not much money, but would you send it out?

I'd do it. I often ship to unconfirmed addresses and have never had a problem. BTW You can see his address if you click on "view payment details" when you bring up the auction anyway. I just discovered that handy tool so I can prepare envelopes when I ship mailed in payments (I dont use checkout)

I send a lot of these.
Never had a problem yet.
At least send it with DC.
So you know it was delivered.
And keep any E-mails you may have with him telling you he won't give you his addy, but wants it sent elsewhere.

Sure, I'd send it...its a dog ornament for his grandaughter...he probably dreads the job of wrapping and sending something to her, and this way she gets a Christmas present from him...maybe he wants her to think Santa sent it. When my father in law got older, I could imagine him doing something like this. If its not much money, why not take a chance. :>}

I send to unconfirmed addresses all the time. I also send gifts for customers all the time. But I have a problem sending it out for someone who refuses to give me his address.

His address is not on the PayPal transaction or anywhere on the auction. I even tried by clicking on Print Address Label. Nothing.

If I mail it, all he has to do file with PayPal and I lose the money. No matter how many e-mails from him I have.

So far this week, I had a woman give me a neg because her package didn't arrive in a week. Even after I gave her a refund.

Another one gave me a positive but said I was slow to ship. It took a week and a half and I didn't answer her e-mails. I answered every one of them, but she has AOL and I have no control over the Post Office.

Another filed a complaint with PayPal because she hasn't gotten her package yet and I won't answer her e-mails. It has only been a week and she too has AOL.

Tonight I had one demand to know where her magnet is. I wrote her back that it was mailed on the 16th, bought on the 14th. And it wasn't a magnet it was a pin. She came back with this. I was under the impression this was a magnet, as my search was for magnets not pins. Please advise.

I want to quit. I don't want to play with these people any more. I want to take my toys and go home.

He gave up all of his protection as soon as he checked "No Address Required" on the PayPal payment.

I do it all the time. Lots of my stuff goes to their work or out as gifts. Made some loyal customers that way. The strangest was a guy who used the addy on a piece of property that he had, several states away, with no house on it. (He said) The reason was because he had a bad seller that had stalked him and his family because of bad feedback. He had me ship a whole box full of stuff to his sons work addy and his son took it over to him. I was worried about that one! All ended well!! Good feedback and has bought from me again since.

On a more personal note, I hate having to use my "Confirmed Address" when buying. I live in a tiny town, less than 500 people at the moment, and my Confirmed addy is in the next town 10 miles away. (When I went to get a PO box here, they didn't have any available so I had to use General Delivery or get one in the next town. NO street delivery here!) Just food for thought.

If it is not much money, I wouldn't worry about it.

I did have one guy from an Asian country send a very small payment (under $1) for an item to a fake address in the US (city, state, and, zipcode all didn't match). I got the item back, and he never returned my emails. From what I can figure, I think he was just trying to build his feedback.
