Since I probably won't be selling in December, I would like to cancel my account. Where in the world do I do this. I thought I saw a discussion on that some time back, but can't seem to find it.

Although, under the new system, I probably already have paid for December - I am confused on that.

I do wish Vendio would rethink this system of charging for pictures - then refunding and charging even if you aren't using the site. I have no problem with paying for the service, just wish it was a little more on the 'if you use it, you pay'. I like simplicity ----

Or, I wish they would just have a place to 'suspend' the account for a while and reactivate when you choose.

Here is the information I retrieved from going to the "Help" Link at the top right side of this board. Hope it helps.

How do I cancel my Vendio services or account?

If you would like to cancel services or close your account, please email us using our Contact Us form and choose the "Account Cancellation" option from the drop-down menu. In your message, please specify why you are requesting cancellation. Many times we can assist you if you're having trouble, so it will help us to process your request if you let us know the reason why you want to cancel.

If you need to request cancellation as of a date in the future, please contact us 48 hours before your specified date. This will allow your account to remain active throughout the current billng cycle but will allow us enough time to process your request before new subscription fees are applied. IMPORTANT: If you do not receive an email back from us about your closure request within 48 hours, please resubmit your request using our Contact Us form. If you do not receive confirmation, this may mean that we did not receive your request.

NOTE: If you are just taking a break from selling, and you'd like to retain your account, you may manage the state of your service payment plans under My Account -> My Service Plans. If you are just taking a break, you probably don't need to cancel your account altogether.

Thanks, cta.

I also asked on the VEndio board and got the same answer.

When I tried, it wanted some questions asked (regarding reasons, etc.). I really did not want to answer them. When I clicked on the option 'confirm plan change', it kept coming back to the page wanting questions answered.

I don't want to cancel the plan altogether, so I liked the idea of just cancelling image hosting - but I don't really know what else to do at this point.

Reason for canceling.... Because I feel like it.

That wasn't one of the options.

They replied on the Vendio services board that if I 'did fill out the survey completely, it wouldn't allow me to cancel'.

I guess I will just have to call AMEX. I didn't want to cancel the account completely, but looks like that is the only way.

I really, really like Vendio, -----

Why would you want to cancel for a month & then go through the hassel of opening up again? I will be gone the last 2 weeks of December, but I won't cancel my account. In fact, I will have auctions on during that time & will check on them from Seattle at my Sweetie's dghtrs. Have done this for 4 yrs running. I never stop putting on auctions, just time them to end when I come home. Thanx to Vendio almost anything is possible.

Why would I want to cancel?

Because I won't be using their services

Because I don't want to pay for something I am not using!

What is so hard to understand about that?

I realize many, many people will just forget to cancel and continue to pay - but I don't intend to do that. The fact that I have 'paid in advance' (last month) for this month's services, kinda doesn't set well with me.

They made it necessary to cancel. In the past there was no problem. If I used it - I paid. If I didn't -I didn't pay.

Now I don't want to cancel - I don't want to go through the hassle of opening the account again - but they have given me no choice.

But, so far, I haven't been able to cancel - geesh if reactivating is as much trouble as cancelling - \

Yes, thanks to Vendio a lot of things are possible, - except not paying for services you are not using and cancelling those services without 'completing a survey'.

This once simple idea is turning into a nightmare.

I am happy it works for you - but it isn't what I want to do.

nnt - Would it be so bad to simply take their 2 minute survey and be done with it? Or is it just the principle of it? If you think you only want to stop using their service for a short time, just cancel the image hosting part of it until you're ready to get back into it. Just take their silly survey and get it over with.

You don't need to cancel your account. Just delete all images, and de-select your image hosting plan. If you're not on the pay as you go plan, select that one. I did just the reverse. I had an account that had not been used for awhile and all the images had been deleted. When the pricing change came, I wasn't charged a dime. In order to activate it, I had to select an image hosting plan. Just be sure to empty your recycle bin. It probably wouldn't hurt to delete all your old counters also. It won't take Vendio long to realize they can charge for that space also, and they don't auto-delete. You have to do it manually.

Yes, cta, it is the principle of the thing.

First off, I don't take surveys. I did give a comment in the box given for that, but it wasn't a 'starred' item. So the reason didn't matter.

You see, it isn't any of Vendio business why I am cancelling. It isn't any of their business if I use another service or not.

I am 63 years old - I am about 60 years too old to be told that I MUST fill out a survey or they will continue to charge my credit card-

Sparkz, somehow I don't think that will work. I was directed by Vendio to cancel only the Image Hosting part of the plan. So you may be getting off lucky, because it seems it is necessary to cancel only the image hosting part of the plan - oh and take a survey first.

This wasn't City Hall - and, in this instance, Vendio graciously agreed to cancel this for me - sans survey - which I appreciate very much. You see I still have great respect for Vendio and didn't have to completely cancel my account. No one lost ------

But I hope I never develop the 'go along to get along' mentality - I don't call that living.
