Before we book any passengers, let's find Noah. I want to have a little talk with him about those cockroaches he booked on the first cruise.
I know the rain is a royal pita where you are, but it looks good here in the valley. Hopefully it will help bring about bumper crops and you won't have to take out a second mortage on your home when you buy groceries this year.

Omigod, I'm hating this rain! We have a corner wood-burning fireplace, and the exhaust pipe (or whatever you call it) on our roof is leaking down the big pipe above the fireplace. I've been sopping up water behind the fireplace with towels and trying to place bowls to catch drips--all without waking my husband, who had a lonnnng day. I'm going to indulge in some Two-Buck and try to get up in the middle of the night to change all the towels. This is just disgusting! And my husband is going to owe me big time for sparing him the agony.

We have two DEMOCRATIC Senators that stick it in Dubya's face every chance they get. I don't think anything from California is going to get as solid a price as oil, cattle, or drilling rigs.

Oh Ya, We have a BIG PROBLEM!! My aunt is dying of cancer in Santa Barabara & I am not sure when I can get there. It is really HELL out here with roads washed out & villages being swept away by mud slides. I have friends that live in La Conchita that I used to work with, but there is no way to contact them. All of the lines are under mud!! MORE RAIN TO COME TONIGHT!!

According to the weather-man we were to be done with this rain by morning. Well morning is here & still rain. There are some mighty black clouds out there too! The weather channel shows that we should have clear skies tomorrow.
I need clear skies & sun, my back yard is flooded, the ground will not take anymore water.

We live in the Central Valley. There are thunderstorms predicted for us. The clouds are the darkest that I think I have ever seen. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
I'm with Sparkz...notify Noah that he needs to cancel the reservations for the cockroaches on his next cruise!
Sanmar, I hope you are able to get to Santa Barbara. The residents of La Conchita are definitely in our prayers. I have never seen a mudslide take out an entire town before.

John McPhee wrote a terrific book, a few years ago, about California--its fires, rains, and mudslides. They all work together, as we all know. As man invades more and more land out here, building on slopes and at the foot of mountains, the problems will only get worse.

Hey, you Californians - quit sending the remnants our way! They arrive in the form of snow and freezing rain. We've had about enough of it already. My basement is wet, I'm wet, the cars wet and parking lots are flooded! On the not so bright side, we're expecting two days of 60 degree temps followed by two days of 13 and 8 respectively. How fun it is!

On the news tonight, if LA doesn't receive anymore rain between now & 7-30-05, they will still be over their normal annual rainfall. Here in Santa Maria we are at 293% of average for this time of our seasonal rainfall. Out here the rain season starts on July 1.
