I just went to check all of my auctions that are selling, and I see that one of my bidders has a -1 feedback rating. I went to check it out and the seller wrote that this buyer never responded to emails or anything. I have one more day left on this item so I thought that I'd write the person to see what's up because I've been in this situation before and it turned out fine. I decided to check out the item this person bid on before and it's the exact same DVD boxed set that I'm selling!

Should I just cancel bids for this joker? Is that against any sort of policy? I've not done that before.

And that's the second loser in one day! I had another guy purchase an item out of my store this morning and then write to me saying he was from Iceland and that he's new to ebay and that he was just "checking things out" but that he might be interested in buying it if it was indeed a record LIKE I LISTED AND PHOTOGRAPHED and not a CD!! I don't even know where to begin with this idiot...

Now I'm venting but I would like some advice on that first bidder please. Thanks!

i think maybe the first time your bidder had bid on that item with the other seller, maybe they had incompatible email addresses and through "newbieness" didnt' complete the dealing .... perhaps yours will go just fine! ...

I suggest canceling the bid, go to My Ebay, On the left side, click on Ebay preferences, Find Buyer requirements, click on change, check box to block bidders with a -1 or more. You can select other things while you are there, click on submit

and you're done!

I wouldn't cancel the bid. You don't know that he won't pay. And someone else may come in and bid against him. Then you get more. If he doesn't pay, file for the FVF credit. He is then one step closer to getting the boot.

Be kind. Everyone is fighting their own secret battles.

You can set you eBay settings to restrict anyone from bidding who has less than 0 feedback.

I have never had a less than zero customer pay for thier item, so I now block them.

Good luck.

If it's not much - I would let it ride but change your setting for the future.
You may want to check the FB he has left others before you totally decide.

Cancel it now. It is a good chance that other bidders will stay away because this person has bid. They get in the frame of mind that if this joker is going to bid against me, I will just move on to the next auction.

Thanks for all of the advice. Paloma, thanks for letting me know that I could set the ebay preferences like that- I didn't know about that.

I emailed the bidder yesterday expressing my concern and told them to write me back if they were serious and let me know why they didn't purchase the last item (the seller was a newbie and had 2 negs, too, so I thought I'd give the buyer the benefit of the doubt). The bidder never responded so I just cancelled them and added them to the ol' blocked bidder list.

Thanks for all of your wonderful advice!
