This is the 2976-A multipart form usually seen for packages 4 pounds and over.

My question is what box do I check: gift, commercial sample, documents, returned goods, other? And if other what is the explanation?

It seems to me an ebay sale is none of the above but it seems strange the form wouldn't have a check box for merchandise.

YEs, it's confusing! I check either "other" or "gift," depending on what my friendly p.o. clerk suggests. It is VERY odd that they have no merchandise box.

You need to check commercial sample for anything you sell.

I check the other box and then write along side of the box the word Merchandise.

Use the international term for eBay item: 'ANTHRAX'.

Stone - I thought you were one of those that believe that you should never lie on a customs form. A commercial sample by customs definition is not dutiable. It is a classification enable to allow manufacturers etc to ship product samples to potential customers without said customer incurring any type of importation fees.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Parklane: Anthrax. That's funny, LOL.
