Geez, I hope the winner isn't some scam artist. That would be terrible! I guess I wouldn't be surprised, either...
Good for them, though- I read about that and think that it's a really sweet thing that people would go and bid on that cause.

12 January 2005:
An Open Letter to David's Fans:
Well, the auction is over. And it has been a tremendous ride. It has been an amazing experience. The outpouring of love and well-wishing has been phenomenal. We have received donations from around the world. And we feel like David's cause has helped raise awareness about pediatric cancer. It both respects, the auction has been more successful than we could ever have imagined.
Having said that, I must state now that we will not be accepting payment for this auction. As a family, we do not feel comfortable accepting this payment. We have notified the winning bidder. However, the winning bidder will be getting one of our "Frank Must Die" bumper stickers. We are grateful for everyone's interest in this auction. And we are grateful for the gesture of the winner in bidding this large amount of money.
We will continue to post updates about David's progress for all those who remain interested. And we hope that the news out of LA will soon read Frank is Dead. Meanwhile, our mantra remains as always, Frank Must Die.
