Hey!
Quick answer needed.
I have an item won by a person from Spain.
He wants to send a "bankers check in US dollars"
Any experience?
I really am about to just say no international bidders.
Anyhow, commence, wisdom, oh oracle: speak.

Thanks

Sounds like a BANK MONEY ORDER drawn on a USA BANK in USD -- if so, thaint no different than any other MO ya get here.

HOWEVER, if it donna say sumptin like "First Farmers National Bank & TRust, Intercourse, PA 16003" and have the FED ROUTING numbers on the bottom, then MY bank will charge a HEFTY $30 fee to process (and might refuse it all together)

Just saying "USD" donna mean diddly-squoot! Ye need the sucker to be DRAWN on a USA bank

Or, at least that's Ralphie's MHO...

If you have never heard of a payment method, call your bank and ask if they can cash it.

I had someone send me a Postal Order from the UK. Oh, what a mess. My credit union said it could take 12 weeks to cash and may cost more than the value of the payment. The buyer ended up stiffing me after I sent the thing back to them.

I do not suggest blocking international bidders unless you have high ticket items or you keep getting repeated problems. Don't throw the bath water out with the baby. Why would you ever forbid someone to send you money?

My 2¢,

Rob

NEVER deposit an INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDER in yer BANK!

Rather (poooor Dan), take it to yer POST OFFICE and they are required to cash them free, as long as it is from a postal reciprocal nation, which, I THINK are the members of the INTERNATIONAL (? UNIVERSAL) POSTAL UNION???

Bankers check = bank draft. Make sure that it's in USD drawn on a US bank and you'll have no problems.

We actually prefer to be paid in Euros by our European customers as Euro bank accounts interest rates currently yield 2.00%

I am so frustrated by people who won't follow directions. But I should be glad they bid.
Sick and sad....

Wrong.

If your bank is worth a damm, this is the best way. If your bank is charging you, get a new bank. I have accounts at 4 different banks and none of then charge you deposit an international money order.

INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDER -- tell us yer bank: I want to call them and apply, as they must be THE only one I've ever heard that will easily accept one (NOT INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS -- any bank will do THAT!)
