"Ebay To Cheap To Donate There Profits For tsunami
"Why dosent ebay donate some of there millions to the tsunami releif why are they asking the small little guys who pay there fees that make them the millions to donate,we are alreay paying out hard earned money to them, let them come out and donate a small percent of the listing fees for one day!! "
alot of people disagreed with what i had to say, seems like there singing a differnt tune

I'm not happy about the new fees either. The only alternative I have to eBay is placing my items in my antique mall spot. However, that costs me much more percentage-wise that eBay does. I pay $185.00 per month rent, 5% commission, and another 5% if the customer uses a credit card. Plus the customer gets a 10% discount by asking, on any item over $20.00. My average monthly sales in the mall are in the $700.00 range. Doesn't leave much of a profit margin. Not only that, but what I sell on eBay isn't mall material.
I will be more frugal when it comes to gallery usage and other frills.

cantwin - here's an answer to your questions about ebay and the tsunami donations. All listing FVF for Tsunami relief auctions after 1-1-05 are being donated as well as ebay and ebay foundations making $1mil + donations.
eBay and PayPal, along with our user communities all over the world, have rallied to contribute to tsunami relief efforts. We would like to update you on our progress.
Selling Fees for eBay Giving Works Listings - We continue to be inspired by the Community’s commitment to nonprofits - during this critical time in Southeast Asia and coastal Africa, as well as throughout the year. We are pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2005, eBay.com will donate all insertion and final value fees on listings created through eBay Giving Works to the member-selected nonprofit organization when the seller agrees to donate 100% of the final sale price. We will be retroactively donating fees for qualified listings that were created January 1, 2005 or later. (Please stay tuned for future announcements with more details.)
International eBay Contributions - Last week, Baazee.com, eBay’s site in India, committed one month of generated fees to the relief efforts. Together with two additional contributions from eBay and the eBay Foundation, Baazee will make a $300,000 contribution to a relief fund set up by the Prime Minister of India. In addition, eBay Germany recently launched an innovative charity effort with Deutsche Post to collect items that will be sold on the eBay.de site to benefit relief activities. More than 40,000 items have been collected so far, and we expect these efforts to raise a substantial sum. Other eBay sites around the world are also providing members with an avenue to raise funds through the sale of items.
Donations to UNICEF via PayPal - A portion of the PayPal homepage has been devoted to raising money for UNICEF’s relief program. To date, PayPal users have contributed more than $775,000 to help tsunami victims.
eBay Inc. Donation – eBay Inc. has agreed to provide $1 million to directly benefit tsunami relief efforts, divided equally between the American Red Cross, Oxfam, Save the Children and UNICEF. This is in addition to a donation already made by the eBay Foundation.
We are proud of these efforts and of your commitment to helping those in need. It is at times like these that the power of all of us – community and staff – truly stands out, and we thank you for all your continued support.
Regards,
eBay

What was your point in the first place??? You wanted ebay to donate some of their millions and listing fees .. I am just pointing out that they did. The only sheep and cattle around here are those who cant read and comprehend ebay announcements.
