My daughter bid on his auction.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6736838355
Feedback is very bad. No consultation before she bid. .
She said this purse is worth $2500.00. If she pays by paypal what recourse does she have if 1. the item is not shipped on time or 2. The item never comes.
This seller doesn't seem like an honest seller but should she give her a chance or back out? I have to eat supper so I will be back shortly.
Thanks in advance.

Even the positives mention slow shipping.
If she's not outbid soon I would retract it.
A good lesson learned for future bidding. Check feedback first.

I would encourage her to retract her bid. I am surprised that this seller hasn't been NARU'd yet. What is up with that?

From the seller's feedback: "A real demon in the ebay community, stay clear of this seller"
I sure do hope your daughter cancels her bid and FAST! She's asking for a big expensive lesson if she doesn't!

OMG LV is the WORST thing to bid on Ebay! Retract NOW if not sooner.
Read up on it! Google it!
Unless she's a mypoopet or whatever that is seller I wouldn't buy it. I wouldn't buy LV unless I had it IN MY HANDS!
My DH cousin is a pilot for an airline and he flies overseas. They bought a bunch of this knockoff stuff for pennies and resold it over here.
NO NO NO NO.

I'd have to question the Authenticity of this purse. I have a black one and it's not real but my friend got it for $100. I thought we were all complaining that people could pay with paypal and then get their money back because the seller was always right? Doesn't that mean that she could get her money back if the purse was never sent? (despite the hassle) Can't she check with the other buyers and see if they got their merchandise?

It's not a real Vuitton bag. A real Vuitton bag is authenticated by Vuitton not by a wholesaler. Seller is listing bags then buying them from the wholesaler which is what is causing the delays.
Tell her that if she really wants the Vuitton look without the price she can purchase this bag for quite a bit less ($150 or less) on iOffer.com
I would cancel the bid.
Oh yeah - it's a Vuitton Murakami White Speedy if she wants to do a search for it.

I personally wouldn't carry one of these. You couldn't give it to me - because of all the fake ones. Every time I see one now I think *FAKE* - even if it were a real one I would still think Fake.
They have got several grades of the copies. Some are so good that even the LV sellers are fooled.
Tell her to buy a Dooney Bourke lookalike - they're much cuter.
really. You don't want to buy LV on Ebay...

Authentic because the wholesaler said so? LOL. The feedback about slow or no shipping indicates she is dropshipping these. Too many red flags here, including being a one day auction on the weekend to dodge Vero. She can probably get the same chinese made bag cheaper from someone selling out of the back of a pickup at the local swap meet. Tell her to retract that bid NOW.

I just read about bid retractions and it says you cannot retract a bid within the last 12 hours of an auction.
I also email the seller and said "In your description you say the purse is yours and then farthur down you talk about a wholesaler. what is with that I also said I would like to place a bid so please answer quickly" Now I will wait and see what happens.
Thanks all. I directed her to this thread so she can read it first hand.

Seller has 7 negs and a feedback score of only 45!
If it was authentic, it wouldn't be a 1-Day auction with a low starting bid.
Don't pay. Seller should be NARU'd soon.

This is the 5th Princess Bag that ehy are selling all from what I can read all louis purses are 1 day auctions not just this one. There is only one personal that left feedback and she said good quality. Well if it is real it is a great buy but if she would have looked earlier in the month she
could have gotten this purse for $100.00 less

It isn't authentic. The giveaway? It has a leather patch with the "Louis Vuitton Made In Paris". Authentic ones don't have the leather patch either on the inside or outside. The "Louis Vuitton Made In France" should be engraved right into the leather. Ask for a date code. Guaranteed it doesn't have one or it's bogus.

If your daughter wins, tell her to demand escrow. If the seller agrees, she can have it authenticated locally by an authorized dealer. If she refuses, don't pay. This should be easy to get a NPB strike removed if Ebay is made aware of her selling history.

just tell her to go to the REAL LV web page and compare the pictures. It won't let me save a macromedia picture or I would post it.
But side by side - ? not a chance.
http://www.vuitton.com/
{found one on ELuxury)
see how everything is lined up on this one? And compare the auction pic
it's not even a GOOD fake........

Hey glassgrl, "You don't want to buy LV on Ebay..." isn't quite fair. We have sold probably 100+ LV on eBay, ranging from vintage to essentially new. We guarantee authenticity, and not one has come back. We happen to be lucky enough to live near the Short Hills Mall, which has a LV store, and they will authenticate any bag, no matter its age, with or without a receipt. Much better than Chanel, Kate Spade, etc. who won't authenticate.
Our only "close call" came from a buyer who said that our bag "didn't smell like a Louie." Hmmmm. We sent her a letter extending the time-frame during which she could return it if inauthentic, and sent her the address of the LV store closest to her (took us half an hour on the phone to convince her that we weren't crooks but nevertheless needed something more substantial than "it doesn't smell like a Louie" to accept a return, but she agreed to go). Next thing is a delighted email wherein she told us that not only had the store authenticated it, but they told her that she got a bargain. Got a positive feedback extolling our honesty.
I think that it is possible to buy LV on eBay and get what you paid for, but obviously not from a seller like the one selling the bag under discussion here.
I think this is the first time I've disagreed with you

Rule of thumb on buying handbags on ebay: don't.
...or pay very close to retail and know the line, well.
I would retract with no aplomb!

Hey - I didn't say you couldn't buy an LV on Ebay - I said I wouldn't!
But then I wouldn't buy one anyway since I see them everywhere.
I just have to laugh when I go to these high dollar neighborhoods with these million dollar homes and the women are selling fake handbags!
ok, maybe I did say you don't WANT TO....

The other bidders are all newbies. Too bad they can't be warned. That is how this bag seller gets away with it. I was invited to a LV home party and the hostess even told everyone they were knock offs, but they bot anyway and she got good money for them.

To be frank, I wish ebay would kick the sleazoids off.
There are a lot of 9.99 knock offs to make anyone happy.
BUT they ain't no sellers who sell $2500 bags for $250.
Unless they "fell of a truck"

Glassgrl,
I think the whole thing is kind of silly too. Having said that, I have to photograph these bags, and I've come to regard some brands as much more worth it than others. LV and Chanel can look really good after 20 - 30 years (and thank God they're usually structured so they stand up on the table ). Dooney and Bourke a notch down cost wise, but probably better looking and just as durable. Fendi and Coach -- okay. And then there's Prada, which one day after it was purchased looks like it went on a hot date with Monica Lewinsky (sorry, that's as delicately as I can put it).

The seller sold this exact same bag in a one day auction that ended yesterday, just a few minutes before this one. The same description and same pictures were used for each auction. The underbidder on this auction helped run the price up on the first auction.

Another question. If this bag is not authentic can she write the Louie Vitton Co. and give them the auctions. she is not only selling this bag but all kinds of them. It is going to be interesting. I sure hope that other bidder bids again.
