Hello. Anyone notice this too? I started preparing a batch of ebay store items using Turbo Lister about a week and a half ago, before the ebay rate hikes were announced. Back then, when I'd check the fees I'd be paying by using the "calculate listing fees" part of Turbo Lister, each item would have a five cent listing fee. Cool so far, right?
Well, something told me I'd best check the fees again after the ebay stores fee hike announcement, and now those very same items show a 15 cent fee per item, according to Turbo Lister. For further clarification, each of my ebay store items have a $9.99 buy it now price, and I used subtitle and gallery, which formerly cost 5 cents. Now it's 15 cents per listing, and it's not even February 18th yet (the effective date of the ebay rate hike).

Thanks for the responses so far. As I may have mentioned in my first post, the ebay store items I have in Turbo Lister have a BIN of $9.99, with gallery and with subtitle. What's odd is, I checked some of my old Turbo Lister submissions just as a test. When I tell Turbo Lister to "calculate listing fees", the old stuff shows the correct 5 cents per listing figure. So I'm stumped as to why my new store listings show 15 cents each in Turbo. I've checked to be sure I'm not listing in 2 categories, no additional bells and whistles (other than gallery and subtitle), etc. So I haven't a clue as to what's wrong. Unfortunately, I have about 150 future Turbo store listings with this problem. Ugh!
Anyways, I appreciate the responses. Now it's time to head back and see what I can do to figure all this out. So far, I've checked everything I could possibly think of.

Maybe your version of Turbolister is old? Is there a newer one? Check your ebay account directly - just because TL says your fees are that high doesn't mean that is what was charged to your acct..

Ah-HAAAA! Neglus, I am indebted to you. I took your advice and checked my ebay seller's account. Well, according to their records, they're charging me 10 cents extra per store listing for a "listing designer fee", which I never wanted and never, eeeever selected when using Turbo Lister. I do my own html. So anyway, I started re-examining my TL store future listings again and UH-OH! Turbo Lister had the listing design option checked by DEFAULT. I wonder how many other sellers unknowingly downloaded *that* particular update and are gonna get whacked in the pocketbook. Sneaky 'lil ebay programmers! Aw shucks, I remember what it was like in third grade too.
So again, thanks to everyone who replied, especially you Neglus. I now have my answer.

Of ALL the various fees involved with eBay, that Listing Designer has to be the stupidest.
Anyone who spends a few minutes can learn enough HTML to do it for free, so why charge for it? It's just there to get an extra dime from those who don't realize they have to pay for it or those too lazy to find many of the free templates available on the net.
If you're going to spend an extra dime to launch an auctton, why not use a service like Vendio that offers some real benefits other than just pretty templates? Vendio templates are far superior to eBay's anyway.
And then there are cases like the OP, where they can charge him anyway and claim it was an accident.
I realize you solved your problem already. I'm just in the mood to rant about eBay today.

Hi Replay,
Where can you find free templates on the net? Would I google it? I use basic HTML, so I couldn't really attempt to create my own at the moment. I just picked up a book to learn more about HTML. I am interested in listing directly on Ebay but continue listing a little from Vendio. I just need to get my costs down. I also list for a friend and have for 4 years now so I am concentrating on getting my fees down for him as well. I just closed his store and will add items to my store.
thanks

OK, I may have been a little misleading about the ease of the process in my rant. If you want to learn how to do HTML templates, just look at any actual eBay product's page with a layout you really like.
Then look at the HTML source code and cut out all the eBay headers and Footers. What's left should be just the specific "template" for the item.
Strip out the seller & item specific stuff and boom, you have a free template.
Change the graphics and the terms, and there you go.
That may sound hard, but any HTML editor will make cutting things out of someone else's page very easy.
Just so long as you don't copy things word for word and change some things around, no one's going to complain about stealing their pages. There are very few truly "original" pages on the web.
