Can anyone identify this large lidded porcelain/china jar/vase? It stands 14 inches tall and has a bird figure on the top of the lid. It is very vividly and brightly colored (looks hand painted but can't be 100% sure). There's a "323" painted on the bottom and, inscribed are what appears to be the number "20" and a small "x" and what looks like a pick-ax. Any help with what it's called, who made it, age, etc. would be very helpful. Thanks!

I'm bumping this up...anyone know what it's called? Anyone recognize the marks? I'm getting ready to list it but have gone brain dead. Thanks!

try searching ginger jars and/or temple jars. I don't know anything about the marks.

Ginger jar sounds good. I prefer the Maryann jar.

Are you sure you don't prefer the Mrs. Howell Jar?

Ginger jars are generally squattier and rounder...I was thinking maybe apothocary-style jar?
