Who else out there will be snowed in this weekend?
My daughter has a gymnastics meet on Sunday, I hope we can get out for it. Tomorrow we 'll be safely snowed in under what they are saying will be nearly a foot of snow.
It's the first really big one for us, I'm kind of excited

I live in Maine and we had a good snow storm yesterday. I woke up to about 14 inches of beautiful, fluffy white snow. It's our first significant storm this year but I think more is headed this way over the weekend. It's fun to see it coming down, but it sure is a pain to shovel.

We're on Long Island, NY and they are telling us 2 -20 inches. Huh, could they be alittle more exact??
And since we are going to move to Colorado this spring, I guess this is practice for next winter. LOL Louise

6 to 12 inches in Maryland. I would really enjoy being snowed in if we had not bought $56 non refundable tickets to a dinner on Sunday. Oh well maybe it won't be too bad.

-24F where we live in Canada today. Our daughter got engaged a couple of evenings ago, her fiance took her to the Provincial park where he asked her to start dating him 2 1/2 years ago. She has frostbite on her cheek from her tears freezing! Big snowstorm forecast for tomorrow.

Louise...This makes excellent practice for next winter. The forecast you will get in Colorado will be almost exactly the same. Just substitute the word "feet" for "inches"

Hi all,
Tom, I'm sorry it's so cold where you are. Trusting you're keeping Ralphie bundled up. Wouldn't want his little self to get a chill!
It was 77 here yesterday. Supposed to cool off next week... Expected temp Wednesday is 65 with a chance of showers.

We had about 4 inches of snow yesterday. Just enough to be pretty and not enough to be much of a pain. This weekend however, is supposed to be an ugly mess of rain/snow/sleet and ice.

That depends on where in CO you are going to live. We had a high yesterday of 69° and tomorrow they say it is going to be a high of 30°. If you live up in the mountains then you had better be part Polar Bear this year.

Minnesota has a Winter Storm Warning in progress until Saturday late morning.
All winter we've set records in the St. Paul/Mpls area for not having less than
1" snowfalls. We barely have 3" of snow on the ground. (We're down 2 feet! in snow moisture)
Estimates are at least 6" and much more with this storm. A lot of moisture in this one. Rochester (Mayo Clinic area) could see 12" or more--latest forecast anyway.
I hate snow for travel; love snow for eBay.
Bids are always higher when there's snow on the ground for the majority of the more populated states out east. All those people sitting around in their underwear on the computer shopping.......

Is Colorado Springs considers the mountians? I don't think it is, so I think we'll be ok. My son is there with our new grandson, and he never told me about the bad side of the weather - "because you would never of considered moving here then!". Not before the baby but now nothing will keep me away.
Just listed the house yesterday and have had 2 showings already. Man I hate this, can't get started with anything too involved, like taking pictures etc. Hopefully it will go quickly. L.....

The Springs is not in the mountains but it is close enough that you are going to get your share of snow and cold.
I've been traveling back and forth between Colorado and California for the past few months and I'm beginning to think I am taking the weather back and forth with me. Last couple weeks have been such a joy. When I'm in Cal I am moping and bailing water and in Colorado blowing and shoveling snow .... I can't wait to move!

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Yep, east side of St. Paul; 8 miles from the MN/WI river border. If you're into antique toys, I promoted Minnesota's largest antique train and toy show for 12 years in St. Paul.
Maybe ran into you a time or two if you do antiques and collectibles.
Hope for better sales this weekend!

It depends where in CS you are. One of the strangest cities I ever lived in, as far as the weather goes. The west side can be buried in snow and the downtown area not have any, or the other way around. An heaven forbid you should be in the Black Forest area, they get snow at the drop of a hat. I used to live in CS several year ago. Now I am out in the prairie. Hotter than heck in the summer and wild temperature swings in the winter. I love it! You can be freezing your tail feathers off one week and out in shirt sleves the next. (that is what has happened over the past 2 weeks here.)

We've had a drought here in the West for the past 7 years. The last series of storms which ended 2 weeks ago dealt a severe blow to the drought. We're all waiting now for a big one to come in and deliver the knockout punch and get us back to normal.

toybuyer you don't live to far from my sister and her family. Roberts street just off the I. Grew up in northern minnesota and man did we have the snow.
We are getting hit hard now in S.E.Wisconsin. Expecting high winds but who cares, groceries are plentiful, we are warm and I love to lookout the window at the weather. Salt truck just went by.
Stay warm in Minnesota you guys...and gals..
