I was looking at the listing page for Ebay, under Ebay shipping (where all the blanks are). Toying with it, I wrote in the shipping box "No gouging!" The letters all fit, and I'm wondering if that would be okay with Ebay. Any thoughts?

I don't usually list the exact shipping in those boxes; rather, I put it in the auction description only.

I'm bumping this up in case anyone has an opinion here.

I am surprised it would take it. Isnt that a numeric field...like for a dollar amount?

Hi,

Is this the one you mean?

eBay Shipping and Payment Details
I am specifying eBay Shipping and Payment Details.(Required when using PayPal Immediate Payments)
U.S. Shipping & Handling: $ This field cannot be empty if you select eBay Shipping and Payment Details. For free shipping fill with 0.

The entry you make here shows at the top of your auction.

If so, I agree with Dblfugger9, it's a numeric field. You might be able to find out if you try to save the auction. Could be it will say saved with errors or whatever that phrase is.

Lucy

Yes, Lucy, that's the spot I'm referring to. ON the big auction page when people are searching, that amount, I assume, would shop up.

Reason I"m wondering if words would also show up is that when I typed "No gouging" in that $$ space all the letters fit.

When filling out, a long time ago, my location for Ebay's auctions, I put "Beautiful Idyllwild CA -- I take PayPal." Still there! That's why I'm wondering if Ebay cares what goes in all those blanks.

I may try it out on some small item just to see what happens.

But did you try to save the page?

Lucy: Not yet. When I do some listings tonight, I'll do so and will let you know.

I don't even know if I can just type in the actual shipping charge (e.g. $2.95) without filling in all those other blanks, without getting an error message.
