Why do you want to view the hidden files? They are hidden for a purpose, and you can lose everything on your hard drive if you mess with them. That said, I don't know how to do it in windows. I always did it from DOS with the attrib command.

sparkz is right - you really do not want to mess with those files. Many may look curious, but they are system files and if you try to open or change their properties, you can really mess up your operating system. But if you want to see them, after you change your view preferences you'll want to do a search in a specific folder, and use *.* as your search term. Then you will see them.

Thanks, y'all! LOL--I don't remember now why someone here thought it was important to do this. . . . something about corruption or such. I found a note I'd written to myself a couple of months ago and was curious about it all.
It's probably time for me to just get on with my life! I appreciate your willingness to educate me.
