I know this sounds a little silly but can you pack (bubble wrap, packing peanuts) media mail ? I have to mail a set of Rosetta Stone book & CDRom learning books that sold for over 200.00 media mail and I'd like to double box and pad them if I can....does anyone know the rules ? I just spent about 45 mins over at the postal site and didn't see anything about it. Thanks for any help.

YES, you can use packing...just don't use newspaper advertisements
"AARP? Ain't that a bunch of old geezers?"
After attacking the AARP, what next for the GOP?
According to Lester Fudgebucket, RNC Director of Stupidity, MOM and APPLE PIE!

Thanks !! I was so shocked the lady picked media mail at 12.24 instead of UPS for 19.01 cause it wasn't that much differents in cost and UPS would be so much faster and eeekk safer I would think. So I now have it on and covered in packing peanuts...going coast to coast ....this is gonna be a long wait.

My understanding is that 1st Class, Parcel Post, Media Mail, and Bound Printed Matter are ALL ground transportation. Priority Mail goes by air. So ... the time for Media Mail shouldn't be that much slower than other non-Priority Mail. One caution about Bound Printed Matter - no return to sender if undeliverable.

I would make sure you had eDC on it. Just to see and make sure it gets there.
If you have shipping assistant and adobe 5.1 downloaded on your computer you can print a label through there and it will only cost you 13 cents for that. Worth the money...

Ditto to Libra! Any book I send media mail that went for $50 or more I get delivery confirmation on--and I frequently wrap in bubble wrap, too, with tissue around the book first, or Saranwrap.
